Today the speedway has released details on a wild new event which will be hosted on Saturday, October 15th at 1:00 pm called the Delaware Speedway Pumpkin Smasher.

The event will consists of a demolition derby with a $1,200 prize fund , $500 to win King of the Hill Extreme Spectator’s Race and an event long sought by gear heads throughout the region: the Bone Stock 75.

This event has been in development for some time.  I have been fortunate to be working with a great team of volunteers who have helped put all of this together and ensure a stable, affordable rules package.

Those who have been wishing for it: please help support this event.  While this program has been in development for some time (months prior to the previous thread), it stands a prime example of the speedway actively consulting with the community to put together something special.  The event will only be successful with the support of that same community working together with the speedway.

Community Members can help out by:

-Simply spreading the word about the event. Share it on facebook, tell your buddies, do anything but let people know this is occurring.
-Offering their assistance to mentor new teams in the proper preparation of the roll cages.
-Volunteering to help at the event through inspections, registration, speedway preparation etc.
-And of course...  Building a car to compete! ;D
