I'm thinking the 7 truck wouldn't be near as torn up as it is if it weren't for the Jersey barriers. Same for the 51. He would have just pancaked the right side instead of riding the wall. I wasn't there Friday but the pictures tell the tale and I have seen the same story many times over the years with those walls. Is Delaware ever going to get rid of those things?
Safer barrier's are not cheap, assuming you want something like the superspeedway's have in the States. Delaware would need to have Kyle Busch back 4 times in 2011 to build that setup.

Who said anything about SAFER Barriers?

the 7 truck went head on into the fence, what does that have to do with jersey barriers? the damage had more to do with concrete than wall design, maybe jello walls would have helped?
Ernie does have a good point with the jersey barriers, maybe would not of saved the 7 truck but it has cause a lot of wrecks. As soon as you touch it you get pulled right up onto it and its hard to get off. Delaware don't need "safer barrier" but All tracks should get ride of the jersey barriers.

Safer barriers would have absorbed significant amounts of energy. The truck would have still gone through the safer barrier and then into the concrete given the speed it was accelerating at coming out of the corner, but with the less 'potential' damage.
Roblee's ride along the wall may have not been prevented, all depends on how he got up there in the first place.
