I'm not supprised at all I'm aware of how much lead it takes to get those car too the legal weight!!! My bad I thought that the rule was add 50 for the body and bolt at 18" I knew about the 100 lbs for built. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the question remains if they made us change to go slower why is there two cars out that have increased the gap? I know we are off a couple tenths from last year, and we are working to get there.
The July 1st event was excellent, and worth the $20 each Michele and I spent. I will say, my kids didn't even notice the missing fireworks, because we had the Komoka 'works going off. That Late Model show was great, The Challenge was nice to watch, as the McMullough camp didn't have an unlucky night (they have had some adversity this season great win), and the SS's did great, except for for poor Juicer seemed to have his car go away a bit early (I was rooting for you Jakey). It was also great to have visiting drivers, from all parts, and finally an American come up and make the trip. He missed the setup slightly, but that's expected when you show up green.
All in all, hopefully this kind of turnout continues.
Our car was quikest at lap 18 and it didn't go away, the faster cars got thru the field and caught up to us. Kudos for the the 33 team for getting their car as fast as it is.
Sorry Jim, it wasn't a shot... we (our racing family) cheers for yours. Yes, you guys were caught by the others, but still a great showing from you guys. I was happy to watch him lead laps again. In fact, we cheer on most teams out there, strictly from the standpoint we are happy to see so many SS's. I know there's a few guys not out for our truck runs yet, and hope they get out soon. Big fields are great to watch.
Did the sticky compound help out there guys? Just wondering, because I did see a few guys run it... but unsure if it was a handful. Did it still bake the tires? Anyone?....Bueller?
Jake said the top had traction but it's still the long way round
Right now the glass cars carry weight 18" off the ground 50 lb extra.
Its not an extra 50lbs. Just 50 lbs of the total weight. The overall weight is still 3200 lbs.
You'd be suprised how much weight the newer cars had to add to get to 3200 (or 3300 with built motor)
interesting, then yes by all means drop the steel body cars weight.. lets say 100lbs , and raise the left....still the best class in the joint...do you not think more will build new cars as the cost of the cars and replacement parts are getting out of hand?
