Maybe John can tell us, and this is a fan question, are there any plans to try and terrace the hills in turn one and turn four at all? The hills are really only good sit on, with chairs or on a blanket, about 1/8th or 1/4 the way down. All the good spots usually get grabbed up by regulars, which isn't a criticism, and I always over hear complaints from people that come irregularly that there is no good places left on the hills. When you look at the crowd on any given Friday and the way the crowd is dispersed it is obvious what I am talking about. Some enterprising fans have modified lawn chairs for this purpose but if you don't it is very uncomfortable sitting in them or even on a blanket. You can also see this in the Granstand but for viewing reasons. The bottom of the Grandstand is not a great place to watch from as you can only see the front stretch. I think that would be true even without haulers in the pits. Most seating areas have a great view but when you have big crowds what is left doesn't offer much. Also those stands that have been sitting behind the fence in turn four on the top of the hill. Is there a plan for those? Seems to me they would be perfect on top of the turn four hill. Is there approval problems? All the above is just some observations I have had over the years so please take it as constructive not destructive criticism. Delaware is blessed by it's topography but that same topography presents some problems also. One other thing. The renovations done over the last few years have been great but then men's washroom needs work. When I bring my Father to the track it is very difficult if not impossible for him to use those facilities. Delaware has accommodation for people with disabilities or restricted movement better than most tracks for places to watch the race but it seems to stop there. Even having the porta-potties helps but having at least one handicapped accessable PP at each end of the track would be even better. Thanx

P.S. Almost forgot. Who decided on the height of the railings on the Crabby Joe's Patio. They seem to have been designed by a Government Committee 😉 :- When you sit down, even on the first tier, site lines are terrible. On the second tier standing or sitting you can't see the front stretch because the railing of the lower tier covers the track. Women especially have an issue with the site lines since they are generally shorter than men and you always see them standing on the rails or kneeling on the stools so they can see so if the height is a safety thing then that is a fail. Almost everyone to a person comments on the site lines every night and I am sure you have heard them.

I have said lots of positives about Delaware so this is my not so positive quota for the season 😉

Right now the glass cars carry weight 18" off the ground 50 lb extra.

Its not an extra 50lbs. Just 50 lbs of the total weight. The overall weight is still 3200 lbs.

You'd be suprised how much weight the newer cars had to add to get to 3200 (or 3300 with built motor)

My point of view starts with "shut up about whining about entry fees"!!!! How the hell can you up the payouts and drop the pit fees? What sort of business model is that?

Oh totally, you can't do both.  Leave the payouts alone.  But $30ea for the crewman is too much.  Just my opinion.  Whether Flammy is charging it or not.  😉

As far as the new cars as opposed to the old cars, some of the old cars seem to be able to keep up with the new cars but from mid corner on is where the new cars appear to shine. Inside or outside lane doesn't seem to matter. I am going to take a stab at a reason for this as it may be because the old cars carry more weight higher up than the new cars. Perhaps taking wieght away isn't the answer but mandating where the weight gets added on the new cars. Anyway to measure or distribute weight above the door handle?

That's what Jim and I both said at the driver's meeting last year when they first "voted" on the fibreglass cars.  I said yeah great, you can make the weights the same, even the F/R and L/R distribution, but the fibreglass cars will have their weight LOWER.  From what I've seen the old cars are able to get in under braking just great (especially Lake) but then in the center the 'glass cars just put the power down and take off.  The problem, I think, is that the guys with the new cars still haven't gotten their chassis just right yet--when they do, they'll be as good going into the corner too.

There's gotta be some way to make up a tray to mount the weight higher up, maybe up behind the rear window? I dunno.  Or give the steel cars a weight break, I guess.

Well Tiger I think we already know what a new car properly setup and driven looks like and I think the number has a one and a four in it and occasionally a couple of sevens.
