from my point of view it sure was nice to have seen some real race cars run, lots of speed, horsepower & loud. i thought that deleware did a very good job this weekend it was to bad that saturday got rained out, their crowd size would have been probably better. also hats off to all the other divisions for putting on agreat show see you all next week.

You know, I never liked to think like that...it sort of sounds like snobbery towards everyone else that runs regular....but you can't help thinking it when those ISMA guys hit the track, and you know that there is absolutely nothing faster or louder anywhere. They really are the epitome of short oval racing. And you understand why, for hardcore Supermodified fans, that everything else seems kinda Mickey Mouse.

As for me, I think you can keep your NCTS...I'd rather see these guys come back more often.

But then thats the beauty of Delaware...a little something for everyone.

I fully understand why the ISMA feature was run first.A month ago at Cayuga it was a different story because there were'nt as many support divisions,so the Super's ran last. They also did'nt have as far to travel.Delaware is getting the outer limits of ISMA's regional range.

The difference between Cayuga and Delaware is mainly that Cayuga was a regularly scheduled show...not a makeup date...and there was no threat of rain.

As for starters...safety crews that are used to dealing with open wheel cars can get them pushed off after a spin very quickly.

Agreed on Cayuga...

As far as the starter issue..Agreed again...You and I should know. You work at Ohsweken, and I'm a regular patron. The smartest thing that Styres could have done was install that warm up track.Sprint car shows run as fast at Ohsweken as most pavement late model shows because of that alone.Plus the army of push vehicles! 😉

I can always tell when I go to a track that does'nt run open wheel cars regularily. The obvious thing is the lack of room and lack of push vehicles.Delaware probably has the room, but has no reson to invest in puch vehicles like Ohsweken.Merrittville can get tedious,as well. The pits there are very tight and they never have enough push vehicles...

Faster and louder cars doesn't necessarily make racing better - just faster and louder!  My idea of racing no matter which cars are running, is the amount of side by side racing and the passing for positions.  How drivers recover from some on-track adversity and the racing for positions in the points, also makes for entertaining racing.

No but when the racing is good, they make for a fuller and more thrilling experience. The idea of racing is to be the fastest, and these guys do it in spades. The noise just adds to the sensory thrill you get...plus its a bit of a throwback to when no one ever ran mufflers.
