FYI - The stands did not empty after the ISMA race. Sure some people left, but most people stuck around.
I said "somewhat". I did not say everyone left.
Running touring series features first, especially on a makeup day/Sunday - and ESPECIALLY when it has already rained and there are storms in the forecast later - is common practice at most tracks. It's not going to change, and it shouldn't.
Here,here...
I'm one of those people that made an almost 2 hour drive to see the ISMA Super's.It rained so hard at the 403/401 junction,I had to pull off the highway.I only go to Delaware to see open wheel racing,so the regular divisions there are simply filler for me.
I fully understand why the ISMA feature was run first.A month ago at Cayuga it was a different story because there were'nt as many support divisions,so the Super's ran last. They also did'nt have as far to travel.Delaware is getting the outer limits of ISMA's regional range.
I'm one of those people that left early. My intention was to stick around so I could get some shots of the cars in the pits. But once I saw that most were packed up and ready to go,there was no reason to stay.I left after the grocery getter feature ;),and did'nt stay for the glorified modified 11 car heat race.
Oh well...hopefully next year...And maybe Cayuga,as well..if they can get thier act together there... 😮
Ok there is some serious stuff wrong here, the grocery getter feature? and the modified 11 car heat race, i find that rude, the team members of those teams work just as hard as the team members of the ismas, no local racers, no ismas, so i would rethink your comment and maybe thank the local racers, afterall they are the ones who create all of this, thanks

Agreed 100%.... thanks to all of the Delaware teams for not only their commitment, but their love and drive to make the grass root racing better!!!

Not only that, the regular race teams helped foot the bill by the significant increased back gate fee for the ISMA's to run so the ISMA's could get their big payout. There was no increase in the payout for the regulars who work hard week in and week out to put on a good show and have helped make Delaware Speedway what it is today and they didn't even get to see the ISMA's run.

Now com on...that kind of smack talk is part and parcel of racing. Asphalt's for parking, dirts for racing. Or asphalt's for racing, dirt's for potatoes. Open wheel vs taxi cabs...however you want to call it.
Fact is, Supers and sprints are divisions that folks come from long ways to see, and if they don't appreciate the local show then fine...its not what they came to see anyway.
The friday night fans know what's what...and that's what matters.

Thanks...I did'nt think it needed that explanation, but it definately helps.I thought the wink I gave after Grocery Getters was a dead giveaway that it was in jest.Sorry,I like my race cars to look like..well..race cars.I don't mind stock car racing, but,I would'nt go two hours out of my way, brave a small hurricane, then sit in sweltering heat for them. And I'm sorry...an 11 car feature is a glorified heat race.By the way,it's the exact same number the AVSS ripped me off for earlier this year by putting their glorified heat race on.
By the way again, other times I've been to Delaware the Power Ade modifieds have had up to 15 or 16 cars, and put on a pretty good show. There just were'nt enough of them this time to make me stay...
