You must be a stock car guy! 😉
Starters on open wheel cars???
NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOoooooooo!!!
FYI - The stands did not empty after the ISMA race. Sure some people left, but most people stuck around.
I said "somewhat". I did not say everyone left.
Running touring series features first, especially on a makeup day/Sunday - and ESPECIALLY when it has already rained and there are storms in the forecast later - is common practice at most tracks. It's not going to change, and it shouldn't.
Here,here...
I'm one of those people that made an almost 2 hour drive to see the ISMA Super's.It rained so hard at the 403/401 junction,I had to pull off the highway.I only go to Delaware to see open wheel racing,so the regular divisions there are simply filler for me.
I fully understand why the ISMA feature was run first.A month ago at Cayuga it was a different story because there were'nt as many support divisions,so the Super's ran last. They also did'nt have as far to travel.Delaware is getting the outer limits of ISMA's regional range.
I'm one of those people that left early. My intention was to stick around so I could get some shots of the cars in the pits. But once I saw that most were packed up and ready to go,there was no reason to stay.I left after the grocery getter feature ;),and did'nt stay for the glorified modified 11 car heat race.
Oh well...hopefully next year...And maybe Cayuga,as well..if they can get thier act together there... 😮

The difference between Cayuga and Delaware is mainly that Cayuga was a regularly scheduled show...not a makeup date...and there was no threat of rain.
As for starters...safety crews that are used to dealing with open wheel cars can get them pushed off after a spin very quickly.
