Racer43 I agree the Saftey Crew at Delaware is very good, but NASAR uses there own people for all CTS races, although they do use the tracks full time Saftey Teams for assistance. As far as your comment on the tracks condition, I would have to say your posistion here is wrong. The Delaware track itself is still in pretty good shape and safe, but the walls down the back straightaway looks like a snake in heat and to find more then 30ft of straightness would be a miracale. This repair could be made without huge costs because the walls are in sections so the labour cost would be much less then if it were a completly poured wall. The Pit Lane is the huge cost as it need to be completly ripped up in order to make it safe for pit stop use. We have had cars come off the jacks there because the ashpalt gave way and this is by far the most unsafe pit road I have ever seen.
Your comment on the other tracks that the NASCAR CTS runs on, making the point that there are several tracks just like Delaware, I would have to say is way out in left field. If you can name a track they currently use that is in the same condition please do so because I cant think of one- you could be right !!
P.S.- Dont say Cayuga because they have just finished fixing there pit road....and dont say Antigonish because I was there last week and that place is a real state of the art racing facility, possably the nicest race track in Canada.

If Delaware can pull it off, all the power to them as I love racing there myself, but I would hate to see them invent a cash flow problem all for one event. The track is great for weekend racing because pit road is not an issue, and the walls that are not straight are already on every drivers mind that runs there full time. They know exactly how high they can run before removing body work !!

The walls need to be redone regardless, as the shape they have (the "Jersey barrier") are what's getting cars airborne around there...

I know this maybe a long shot for next year but here is a schedule  for Labour Day next Year.
Friday night Chammpions Night All classes (Truck,Sport Stock,Modified,Late Model )
Saturday Morning approx Noon-Time Trials O.S.S. & NCTS Cars
Saturday Afternoon 2P.M.- O.S.S. Race -100 Lap
Saturday Evening - 7 P.M. NCTS Race 200 Laps
Sunday Noon Time Trials APC 300
Sunday 2 P.M. APC 300 ( No Heat Races ) just 300 Laps just like old days
This is just a suggestion and you could call it the Fastest Race Weekend in Canada .Now the 2 groups have to get together like as soon as the year ends as there would be a lot of work to be done on And off the track. You could even call the saturday NCTS race Bristol Night in Canada

No late model event on the Friday - two races in one weekend isn't too good, especially when there's a lot on the line for the 2nd one.

Racerfan- Why not 200 Laps for CTS on Saturday afternoon, and invert the entire field for Sunday and run another 200 lap on Sunday, but all cars must start Sunday on the tires they finished with on Saturday.
99% of the Teams carry 2 cars so crashed cars would not be a problem and most teams would much sooner run a back to back deal rather then travel to another location.

As well NASCAR pays out $15,000.00 to win per 200 lapper and if you win both, Mr.France cuts you another check for a bonus $15,000.00..... okay its time to stop smoking that stuff !!!
