i remember a guy racing a snowmobile

That reminds me, I went to Flamboro Speedway once in the middle of the winter back in the early 70's, they had snowmobile races, but the most hilarious part of all was the mini stocks out there racing, I remember them bucking snowbanks, etc... I don't think I have ever witnessed anything as funny since at Flamboro.

Speaking of Snowmobile racing another childhood memory flashed into the cranium. Back in the day, late 60's early 70's, there used to be a great place to race snowmobiles. It was just south of Minesing on Portage trail across from the old fort. Long gone now. They had an oval and a drag strip. My one Uncle drove for the Arctic Cat team for a couple years and my other Uncle had a 69 Arctic Cat Puma. The Puma cleaned up on the the drag strip. He could take off with that thing and half way down the track hammer it and bring the front end up and leave the competition in the snow dust. Wasn't really good on the oval but the AC team sleds were awesome there and my other Uncle cleaned up. One year he had a three cylinder cheetah (I think) with something like 125 HP or more. All the big teams used to come out to these tracks. Sunset Speedway also had snowmobile racing back in the day as well if I recall correctly. Racing 12 months a year back then for me. That was great!
Lakeside northeast of London also had snowmobile drag races on the lake every year in the 70's. Some faaaassst sleds there every year.
