for a cheap car its the "what if chance" on actually winning 10k... and for a $500 car get ti ready for a few of these enduros before the big one race the car a few times and its really not much more then gokarting 3 or 4 times........i see the math not adding up with the payouts....but if race tracks continue to take losses we wont have anywhere to race....people forget these facilities arre businesses and not a public service that has to stay open....tomorrow they could all close down then what?
yetti69 makes a GREAT point.
There is WAAAAAAY more money that could be paid out. There is no reason the 50th place runner cant pocket 150-200 bucks. And it goes up from there.
The concept is great! The track gets rich with scrap cars, huge car count, entry fees. The winner gets a HUGE payout. And because they keep the cars at the end, not TO much money is spent on cars. (Whos going to dump 5 gs into a motor alone, when they loose it at the end of the day. So the little guy now has a shot.
If they did this BUT JACKED UP THE PAYOUTS, it would turn things around for racers. More tracks should do this, BUT GIVE OUT BIG PAYOUTS, because they CAN DO IT.
Seems they need to rethink their math after reading the small print.
Leaving $250-300 in scrap is rich enough, $100 entry is an insult.
$100 x 100 expected cars is the $10,000 offered, so that alone covers the purse. Then a bonus $20,000 to $30,000 in scrap to the track, plus front gate and concessions?
C'om on guys.. I know times are hard, but they are hard for all of us. The drivers are your show. The way that is priced, the drivers pay for themselves and the track walks away with a huge profit...
$100 entry alone should merit a 10K purse with 100 cars. Show cost the track nothing then, while they pocket all admissions. Don't insult the guys doing the work by taking them for $300 bucks each in their scrap!!
Ok Yetti 69 I challenge you to put up the money and rent the track and see if you can make a go of it. DO YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE?
Wes are you nuts???
This show costs the track the same as a regular Saturday night show, same staff, etc. But the difference is they are bringing in 30,000.00 EXTRA is scrap cars!
Each racer is paying 100.00 to enter, + 250.00 car they are leaving the track as a gift. Thats 350.00 bucks the racer is paying the track for 1 saturday night of racing!
I pay Barrie and Sunset 20.00 to get in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get 50 for last in mini stock. Thats 30 bucks ahead of the game.........
So that means Brighton should be paying me 380.00 bucks to take the green flag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP OFF. Make it worth my while to finnish 50th and ill come.
Not to mention most tracks are paying out for 3 divisions for one nights sponsorship and crowd. Late models and thunders paid. If they are just running one class on this day, then they can put that extra late model and thunder payout back in my hands.
Wow 1,000.00 to start!!! Sounds like back in the 60s when you could actually make a buck racing, or not get HOSED anyhow, doesnt it??????
Making 1 man rich with a big payday of 10 gs is not doing the racing community any good, when 99 of us go home broke, without even a car to sell.
Id rather play the lottery, 350.00 dollors worth of 649 tickets and a shot at a million or even 50,000 gs is better then 1 shot at 10,000 gs for the cost of a car and entry (500 for a car 100 to enter).
Open your eyes people, yetti is right, its a scam.
