never said i agreed with it....i guess i could have said carrots rather then spoiled milk...either way if you dont want either, they dont buy them....
You can also bet they will suck the fuel out of the tanks before they put them to scrap, likely another 2,000 bucks or so in gas. All those cars will start with a full tank, and ill bet a third of them will still have most of that gas in them when they crap out or get wrecked 15 laps into the race.
Damn, I need to invest in this deal! Who runs this track? Donald Trump? 😉
I think this is a neat idea. I was going to take the year off, but I might bring a crap car a try for it. I think everyone is forgetting a few things... if the track gets 100 cars it will make some good money, if 25 show up, then what? If someone brings a car that is too good, anyone on the track would ensure that they don't finish in hopes for $10 g's. Also if you really figure out how much you have invested in a car and how much it is to run every race, the cost of this race is relatively cheap, and you don't have a chance for $10 g's, maybe $1000 on a special night or if you race late models.
I like the concept, the math leaves a bit to be desired. I'd say pay start money on a sliding scale in relation to the number of cars. Or what about auctioning the cars off after the race? That way we can keep the useable cars on the track, now your buddy who has no place to work on or store a car and nothing to tow it with can buy him/herself a racecar that's already at the track. If somebody brings a big cannon he can try and buy his good stuff back, but he risks it costing a bunch if somebody else figures out what he had. And let's face it the traffic is the big equiliser in these things, a guy with a late model wouldn't be at that much of an advantage with that many cars on that track. I heard about a run wacha brung enduro at capital city some years ago when a guy showed up with a big block mod and got I stuffed into the wall.
Here's a strategy; bring a decent car and a few buddies in junk, they take out the other strong cars you split the $10,000 4 ways. What do you bet as "team" wins this thing.
Who cares?
