Only 6$ in general admission this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!
Cornwall, Ont – Thursday, August 27, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – The bargain chasers will be happy to hear that this coming Sunday, it will only cost $6 in general admission access on Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by Budweiser. A busy schedule is on tap for fans and drivers.
As there is only 2 nights left in the track championship for most of the divisions, the action will be heated in both qualifying rounds and also come feature time as all points will be important to get.
With a hefty 120-point lead, Carey Terrance must only qualify in the feature this Sunday to guarantee a second Bandit Motorsports Modified championship. Terrance has a similar sequence that he had last, winning three of his 4 features in the last 5 events, he never finished worse than second in these races. Behind Terrance, a good battle is shaping up to determine the other positions in the top 5 as Stephane Lafrance, Lee Ladouceur, Kyle Dingwall, Gabriel Richer and Brian McDonald are all involved.
Corey Wheeler continues to dominate in the Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage Sportsman having a comfortable 66-point lead over Justin Lalancette. The same scenario is forming up for the battles between the other positions in the top 5 with Lalancette, Louie Jackson, Joey Ladouceur and Jessica Power. A 25-lap event is scheduled for them.
With the several changes in the schedule, the promoter Ray Lavergne decided to add some laps to a total of 35 for this Sunday’s event in the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature. Dave Bissonnette is looking for his 4th consecutive championship leading by 42 points over George Renaud. C.D Beauchamp and Jocelyn Roy are tied in third with Stephane Lebrun behind with a 20-point difference in fifth. Everything is still possible for them with 2 events to go!
J.F Page leads the way in the Polar Sound DJ Services Mini-Stock with a 39-point priority over Marc Dagenais. The points are close for third with only 8 separating Justin Desrosiers and Chris James. A 12-lap affair is on the card for them.
Being part of the calendar changes, the SpeedSTR were moved to this Sunday. Mostly coming from Quebec, about 15 drivers are expected for their annual stop at Cornwall. A 20-lap feature is on the schedule for them with the Semi-Pro having the night off.
In addition to these 5 features, a non-winner challenge is also part of the schedule for both Modified and Sportsman. All drivers that did not win a feature event and have participated in at least 50% of the races at Cornwall this season are eligible. A 15-lap race is scheduled for the Modifieds while the Sportsman will compete in a 12-lap event.
Part of Fan Appreciation Night, Bandit Motorsports will offer a T-Shirt to the first 500 fans that will cross the gates!
Admission costs will be 6$ for adults in general admission, 3$ for seniors and only 2$ for kids 16 years and under. Pit entry costs will be 23$. The gates will open at 3pm to allow hauler parking and general admission gates will open at 5:30pm with the first qualifying race at 7pm.
