Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 23, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – One of the biggest events of the season was presented at Cornwall Motor Speedway with the Super DIRTcar Series in town along with the Patriot Sprints, the Seaway-Lussier Sportsman Series and the Vintage. Seaway GM and Mel Valade Backhoe services were the sponsors of that great evening!

In the 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series Big-block series, Matt Sheppard to the lead over Pat Ward and Kyle Dingwall. Sheppard got to lap traffic on lap 10 with Ward getting closer, both leaders were in heavy traffic conditions as some great battles were happening in the back of the field with Dingwall trying to keep his third spot.  As the track became more slick, Dingwall was able to use the inside lane to surprise Pat Ward for second on lap 33. Dingwall closed in to the leader by lap 40. At halfway point, Sheppard had Dingwall and Ward near him with Carey Terrance and Stephane Lafrance completing the top 5 at that point. Peter Britten flipped in turn 1 and the red flag was out. Britten was ok. Sheppard to the lead with Terrance being able to charge from the outside and took second over Dingwall. While Terrance got closer to Sheppard, a good battle for third happened between Dingwall and Lafrance as the #66 was able to keep his spot. Terrance pulled inside of Sheppard and passed him in the front stretch as lap 67 was clicked in. Terrance led the pace for 24 more laps as Danny Johnson brought the caution with only 9 laps to go. On the following green, Brett Hearn was on a mission as he passed Dingwall and Sheppard with only 6 laps to go and got closer to the leader. Hearn used the outside lane to pass Terrance for the lead with 2 to go. Hearn led the final laps to capture the feature in front of Terrance and Matt Sheppard.

Jessica Power led the way in the 50-lap Seaway-Lussier Sportsman Series with Mike Stacey and Brianna Ladouceur. With Power in front, a good battle for third as Mathieu Desjardins was now in the mix with 7 laps completed. The leaders were in the slower traffic as Shane Pecore being able to charge to third. As the feature picked up a good pace, Pecore slipped in turn 2 and caution was out with 20 laps to go. Brianna Ladouceur had a solid start and passed Power for the lead. Scott McGill slowed the field down on lap 32. On the restart, Ladouceur still in the lead with Martin Pelletier jumping to second with Power still in third. Ladouceur and Pelletier exchanged the lead with some cautions in the final stage. A lap 48 restart saw, Ladouceur made a great move to pass Pelletier and won his first ever Seaway-Lussier Series race with Mathieu Desjardins completing the podium

Steve Poirier wasted no time and grabbed the lead over Yan Bilodeau and Lee Ladouceur in third in the 25-lap Patriot Sprint Tour feature. Ladouceur got by Bilodeau on lap 6 until caution came on the speedway for Rick Wilson on the following lap. Poirier stayed first with the top remained unchanged. While Poirier was alone in front a great for second with Ladouceur, Bilodeau and Jared Zimbardi now in the mix. Poirier went too high and Zimbardi got closer on lap 22. Poirier led the last laps to win the feature over Zimbardi and Bilodeau.

Brian Comeau led the way in the 12-lap Vintage Feature, Wayne Riddell and Pete Stapper were behind the leader. Riddell used the high lane as both leaders got together sending Riddell outside of turn 3 and Stapper slipped in the lead with 5 laps done. Stapper used the bottom to resist to Brian Comeau and wins the feature.
