Jimmy Spencer was pretty critical about him turning back on the track, but how many times do you see that.
Maybe the team didnt clik with his personality.
Like southern pointed out he shows no personality on tv. He is a bit different from them. Guy has won championships, been around the world a number of times, has made a record, been treated like a god in some parts of the world. This might have been too much of a reality check.
On the other hand Patrick was really excited on tv. The people seem to like him alot. And wasnt it him the other night, announcers were mentioning how he went across the street and bought a couple of books on Nascar history and the 500 to read and update himself, which impressed them big time?
Sorry to say I really didn't think JV would make it in Nascar. I know he has won a lot of things in other types of racing but over the years I'm not sure what it is maybe his love for racing is gone and you can see it Patricks face he is excited and loves what he is doing win or loose he has a smile.
JV seemed to change after he couldn't get a ride in F1. This is my opinion and I could be wrong I would love to see more Canadians in Nascar.
JV never looked comfortable in his short Nascar attempts (maybe it's his ill-fitting suit), but Patrick looks like the real deal. He drove the wheels off that car trying to get up near the front. He should be a good sell(like Ambrose).

Yah, JV always did wear that really loose suit. I was impressed that Patrick bought books on NASCAR and Daytona. Cali will be a big test for him, having to learn tire management on these heavier cars. What did they say in Days Of Thunder, "now the tires are half as wide, and the car is twice as heavy, and you're burning em' up!"

i was not that he could not get a ride it was due to the fact that he would not drink the kool-aid that bernie e and max were handing out so he left.
