I'm more surprised at how well the dodges did at the end...I don't think anybody expected the dodge brigade to hook up on the high side at the end and just power on by.
that Bowyer spin...the more you watch the replay you realize that...that car was close to spinning right back up onto the track....that would have caused a massive wreck...great piece of driving from Clint to control that.
I loved his spotter while he was spinning, "Okay, turn left! Turn left! Turn left!" I'm guess a former driver spots for Clint. After they dropped Burton back, there wasn't a soul in the top 5 I wanted to see win, but Newman was the lesser of about he top 7 evils in those final laps. My family and I were making predictions before the race, and not a single one came true!
I was surprised by how cars could break away in small packs of 3 and 4 cars . I don't think i have seen that type of racing since the early 80s at Daytona . I also see where NASCAR chassis dynoed several cars after the 150s and the JGR Toyota's had over 15 hp more then the Hendrick Chev's and almost 30 hp over the Roush Fords . I also found it curious that no mention was made about MWRs David Reutimann Nationwide car having an illegal carburetor that had been bored 50 thou over spec .
Burton wasn't too happy with Bowyer in the garage after the race. I presume for hanging him out just before Juan problem spun Clint. The 15 - 30 hp advantage was a little exaggerated. On jayski they said it was closer to 7-10.
