yes i read that. That is awesome that more money was added to the payouts for the LM. And the fact that BSW will pay at the end of the year for the Nascar licensing is awesome too.
I love the challenge of the Speedway too, with 2 different corners it makes it much difficult to run consistant lap times and takes a little more skill.
I also like that when we pull through the gate at BSW it reminds me of all the fun times I had growing up watching my dad race and watching some of my other favoutrite drivers race such as Ian Bourque, Dave Sinclair, The Whitesides, Gary Mead and Gary REynolds
(whom we played behind the stands with his daughter). Brings me back to my childhood
i haven't been there yet this year, but last year on my first race the drivers were great, i tried to get outta the way and they tried to avoid me. 😛 jim beleskey was especially helpful with his advice for the corners, which i hope i improved at least a little 🙂
also the staff, in 2008 when i took the car out for practice the flag guy in corner 2 (sorry i cannot for the life of me remember your name right now) was really concerned about the rain and made sure to tell me that even if there was one drop of water on the windshield to slow down and get off the track, after he came over and talked to me and gave his advice from what he seen.. and when i raced in 2009 he made sure to make his way over to see me and wish me good luck and we talked after the race too 🙂
i can't wait to be at barrie speedway again 🙂
I have to say the best part about Barrie Speedway is the short walls and the close proximity to the track the fans actually get. I dont think any other track in Ontario gets the fans that close to the racing action.
I like the beer gardens!!! ;D ;D ;D
I realize the need to positvie comments and no bashing, but lets not turn this into a government or dictatorship by locking out every person that speaks there mind.
I agree with the fact Barrie is one of the most challenging tracks, with a small wall that puts the fans level with the action, It also has alot of nice property with alot of grassed areas.
People will come back when the cars come back, but even Daytona and Indy are lonley places when they are empty. Its not the ashpalt people are in love with, I can see that outside my window right now! Racing is about people not machines!
