Ok well we have a thread started about our LLM rookies, so I thought it would be a appriopriate time to do the same for Thunders. Now at the beginning of the year this race didnt even appear to be a story or contest. #15 Donny Brandon looked to have a lock on this honor, and still would get my vote by virtue of his 7 top 10's in just 8 starts. That stat alone is impressive, in what might be the deepest and best field of Thunders in the province!! #35 Chance Isherwood is the only one of the Rookie crop to have won a feature, and can back that up with other 2 top 5's. Both Isherwood and Brandon have won a heat, so it appears the bridge between the two is closing. #3 Ken Denhollander has been super impressive in recent weeks, and while still considered a but of an "outsider" for the award the 3 isnt out of the mix in my eyes. #27 Don Munce and #84 Jerry Slavish are not on the level of the other 3 just yet in my opinion, but both those guys do seem to be improving!! This is just my take on the Thunder rookies so far. Do you guys agree or disagree of my assessment????
I didn't see #22 Jason Elliott mentioned in there. He had a newly built car to get the hang of and from what I see has been slipping under the radar. Have you noticed his finishes recently?
Yes Jason sure has come along nicely!!!! But he ran too many races last year to qualify for Rookie status I believe!!!! This is a Rookie topic!!! Now Jason would hands down have my vote for most Improved in the division but he's not a Rookie!!!!
Sorry that is true. I think of him being a rookie cuz last year didn't count cuz he didn't have THAT car.
Ok then my vote is for #15 Donny Brandon.
I think Donny will have it wrapped up if he continues the way he is going, but your right Dave that gap may start closing pretty quick between he and Chance, it should prove to be an intresting battle.
