bodies are not going to drive cars away!!!! it's not a performance advantage, it's time for change!!!!

It's all in the driver!

And Thayne, your car doesn't meet the current rules for bodies and nobody will make you change your body if you don't want to. It's allowing something different. And if you want the different body and there is a weight penalty then that's ok. If it's 100 lbs 18" off the ground then great or if its a steel plate on the halo that's ok too.

Not every body has a standard trans now do they?

And ya, #%£€ cancer! Really is good to have you back Mike, all the best to you in 2012, really sorry to hear about Jim, he was a great guy and a serious talent behind the wheel.

Thanks and thanks. I hope to go out and shake some trees! I just want to pick up where Jimmy left off.
(I sure hope this is Keith or I just stuck my foot in it) ;D

My question is.. why not plastic? Steel gets stretched out of shape.. and fiberglass simply cracks.
Get a dent in your plastic door, push it out with your fist and it looks just like new !

they are built for super stocks, thunder cars, metric chassis they ARE NOT LATE MODEL Bodies the were designed to go on nova's, camaro's ect.And they were made to look like the street versions and still be a race car. They are cooool looking..

So much so that I hear the Delware guys aren't even using car haulers, they are driving them to the track.

Don't need to tell us that they are not late model bodies, its just guys like Bull who are really confused. Since all the drivers here know the difference between a camaro clip (or aftermarket what the heck), fabricated frame, 602 powered, standard car, a 3-link rear with a aftermartket plastic body and a LM you are really preaching to the choir.

You'd be much better to put "THEY ARE NOT LATE MODELS... honestly" in the race program for the fans.

this....

and Mike....roof is stock...51" off the ground....where does our car go so far off the rails?

Thayne, I didn't say it went "so far off the rails" but according to the rules your car doesn't.
I didn't start this to bash anyone or a group.

This is simple, if thunder cars were able to run aftermarket bodies I don't see a problem as long as they look like the right car. if its a Mustang body then it should be all mustang body and look like a Mustang. And as far as weight goes, I will bet that if you were to weigh all the steel panels against all the fibreglass panel they would be within a few pounds of each other.

I guess we will just wait and see.
