This is for pit gates not spectator gates but Deleware opens pit ticket booth 1/2 hour before posted time to let racers get tickets so no mass confusion when they actually open pit gate.Wow did it ever work well guess the other tracks aren't smart enough, something so easy.

Thanks for posting DWfan4ever. I don't know where to start. I don't know why Burl's creek had no one in the parking area and will find out. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

You posted directly below the times posted for the gates opening. They were also posted on our website (official site to go to first) and facebook and here on CRO. Frankly we forgot about twitter.

With that said it is not about the $$$ on a rescheduled rain out, it's about caterers, security people and staff that have to find sitters and re arrange their schedules, find rides in order to come back the next day (very similar to what fans have to do.) We published the time that we could get 40 people back to the track to open. I will say that when I saw the line up of about 20 people at 11am I opened the Gen adm myself. So you actually got in earlier that what we had posted. You can't just open the gates and say "come on in, there's nothing to eat or drink but have a good time."

NCATS sets the schedule and we as promoters work with that to make the day happen but you can't pull staff out of thin air and you can't do everything yourself.

I guess that's what we all get for loving an outdoor sport. We thank all the fans for re arranging their schedules and coming out to see what turned out to be a great race. Only mother nature wants to turn right we we all want to turn left! LOL

Great post Dianne and a great job the Apex group did putting this show together with NASCAR. Lets talk about the staff for a minute because they do get left out of the equation some times when the thanks and praise are being handed out.
First THANK YOU to everyone at the track who had to rearrange schedules to make the Sunday show work.  To the maintenance staff who worked well into the morning hours to make sure the infield was dry and the grounds were again clean, dry,(as much as possible) and ready to go for our customers. By the way that wasn't the end of their job because once the gate opened they all have other jobs to do at the track as well, so very little sleep and a great effort.
My thanks to the Security company who not only had to scramble to cover off another day but had the increased requirement of now watching all the team haulers and equipment over night.
To all the concession and ticket staff for being ready and able to restock and be ready to go for the next morning.
Those are a couple of examples of the extra effort that went into making sure your race day experience was the best possible. I haven't mentioned everyone but believe me when I tell you an extraordinary effort was put in by all staff, management, contractors, and NASCAR to make Sundays event work and hopefully provide a great experience for the majority of the fans!

Dave's last word.................. Awesome job everyone be proud of what we did!!!
