You know somthing we dont, considering we havent had a drivers meeting yet?
dont get me wrong i dont quite know where i stand on allowing 16v at barrie but our drivers meeting isnt for a couple more weeks. if you know something please lets us all know 😮
I will be at Barrie's drivers meeting because until these things are made official they are just rumor but as i understand things there will be no change in Barrie's 4 cylinder rules or classes .
Sunset will keep their Road Runner rules the same but Four Fun's are gone and will be replaced by Outlaw Mini stock which will allow dual cam , coil overs , engine mods , on 8 " Hoosiers .
Thanks for your view on kids in the pits Ross, spot on.
My wife and I bring our 5 year old with us to the track all the time and none of us would have it any other way. She was at Autmn coulours (in the pits) at 10 days old and has been in the pits ever since and she knows how to behave around the cars. When we went to Barrie for the triple 50's she was very upset that she couldn't came due to other plans, and when we got there where shocked and apauled to see that she wouldn't have gotten in any ways. If she had been with us we would have turned around and gone home, out of principal and my wife would have had to sit in the stands and the three of us ARE our race team so I would have been on my own.
As much fun as I had there, and as much fun as I have travling to other tracks we will not be back to Barrie or by the sounds of it will we going to Varney for there Thunder invitational any time soon.
I respect the track right to make these choices and I do see all sides of this, I just wish some would change their rules on this.
We all have different opinions on this...
My friend has a five year old who loves racing. He is getting used to being around the cars... at the shop, outside. I would rather he be in the stands than in the pit, even if the rules were different. I grew up around Barrie and it has always been this way... under 14 no go until the last competitive event is completed.
I have raced at tracks that allow under 14 in the pits and it is a bit of an eye-opener.
Mind you I agree there are many times that adults who should know better walk in front of my car... but at least I can see them. With my helmet on it is very hard to see out the back when reversing and I doubt I would see a small child. I don't want to responsible for something happening. I think it's unfair to the rest of the competitors to come to the track and bring small children and expect they will be okay. This is just my opinion of course.
We have had this same discussion before and people did not agree with each other the last time. I really hope this subject doesn't degenerate into the brawl we had last time... IIRC the thread had to be locked.
