This is how i got into racing. when i was 14 my dad forced me to go with him one night, i liked it, and it is the only reason i race today. i think if kids arent allowed on race teams, there is no way for them to learn anything. i learned everything i know about cars while i was in the pits.
same with me, well except the forcing part lol, i had to bribe dad by saying i'd pay for it with my own money haha.. we dont do much work throughout the season at home, usually the car sits on the trailer till the next race night.. I guess it really depends on the maturity and behavior of the kids, some of them run around like idiots, but most of the kids ive seen at barrie work on the cars or even just give support.. in 2006 and 2007 I never left my dads side unless he was on the track haha. Its how I learned… its not so much the irresponsible kids but the parents to, they should be watching them and making sure they aren’t doing anything dumb. And if they do then don’t let them in the pits, if they are old enough to run around in the pits then they can sure enough sit in the stands by themselves just go up and check on them…
just my thoughts through experience..
No kids on teams. Unless the 14 year old is DRIVING, kids should be in the spectator seats.
Oh, so a 14 year old can handle 3,000 lbs at 60 + mph, inches from 30+ of his closest friends, but they can't be in the pits to change a tire? That makes a whole lot of sence.
Kids in the pits are not the problem. I have come close to running over many more stupid adults than I have kids.
Kids in the pits for the most part come from racing families and have been raised around cars and know how to act. The problem is when you bring Uncle Stan, you know the guy dresses in his nice new NASCAR jacket he won't get grease on, don't know a wrench from a broom and has no idea how to get out of the way. His kids are a danger, but so is he....

Again I am not trying to be rude to you in any way, however when looking at previous posts (even while last season was on) you make numerous mentions about YOUR car, and it was very confusing as week after week you were never out there. As I have stated NUMEROUS times before. I am not a driver nor have I ever professed to be. judging by your new screen name with the number 04 in it I am taking a wild guess that IF you do have a car for next season then you (or your parents) bought Kurtis Balls car. I guess I will just have to watch for it when the season starts. If you took any type offense to my question then that is a shame as none was intended.
On a side note when it comes to kids in the pits I think the ones that are the problem are the groups of little girls (13-16) that come to watch everything but racing. its when they are running through the pitts too worried about hugging the young drivers and looking good rather then looking out for cars. Don't get me wrong there are some young girls that are at the track for the right reasons but for the most part it's more like a fashion show and giggle fest rather then race night.

For one yes i do have a car, reason number one why i did not race it last year is because it's a 16v and there is no way i would be running at Sunset. Why would you say i bought Kurt's car?
and my parents wouldnt pay a dime for racing, its called sponsors and a job.
thanks.
