Just to show how in tune you really are, you seem to think you have alot of knowledge, (more than anyone else apperently), since i brought up Kevin Bell as an example, maybe you should know that (before you go off as Mr. know it all) that it was three straight championships, not one....but you knew that already right? lmao
very well put Jim. My whole point is that talent level does not depend on car counts at all. Just cause one track may have the most drivers, does not mean that there are not top drivers elsewhere.....
Actually i did not recall that Kevin won 3 championships , i thought he had won one or two in the mid 90s . There are people on here that are much better at statistics then i am but this goes to my point that few people remember guys that run in divisions that have less cars in them then your average Tim Horton's drive thru . Your assertion that tracks with big car counts don't have more competition and draw more talented drivers is ridiculous and goes against everything i have witnessed from Hialeah FLA to Wasilla AK in the last 40 + years . Consider the fact that the 2010 Sunset Thunder car champion will have beaten more drivers and better drivers in a single season then Kevin Bell did in all 3 of his championships years combined .
I am sure the 2010 Barrie Thunder car champ will go down in anonymity much like Kevin while the Sunset champ will be remembered as the top Thunder driver in the province and probally the country . Let me repeat one more time i am not bashing Kevin Bell i am just using him as an example since you brought him up .
Wow! I'm done with this topic since Holland Landing apparently is a great place to grow mind altering substances and there's a good crop this year. I can't stop laughing at the ridiculous posts and obvious blind favoritism towards one track.
So, Holland Landing, I hope when the bubble bursts, you don't hurt yourself in the fall. I'm sure Sunset is going to be nice and I'm looking forward to fun times there, but it ain't gonna become the Mecca of racing you think it will be. 365 days ago it was a far different matter at the mighty Double S. As it was a few years ago at Barrie. Stuff happens, big deal.

You have to admit that it is a good source of entertainment and it reminds me of the type of discussion and logic you would find in a grade 6 school yard.
I think what holland is trying to say is that with Sunset being NEW and in the event all the top drivers converged on the track one night the driver who wins can say they beat all the top drivers in Ontario. That its not a matter of where you race but whom you race. The great matches in history from Ali to Earnhart you remember the best guy and the upsets. I think thats his point. jmo and I agree.
That happens every year... Drivers get together and race and someone wins.
Just because Sunset is new doesn't mean the sky will open and it will rain gold bullion and diamonds. Barrie was redone in '04 and the sky did not fall and the rivers did not overflow.
I think there are MANY people who are expecting way too much.
