This is my brief preview as I see it, keep in mind I'm usually outta the "racing loop" in the winter months..
#1 Gordie Shepherd -- The defending track champ also has a 2003 TC title and a 4 banger one to back him up.. If Gordie runs Delaware this year (as is rumored) my bet says that Gord would be as decent bet as anyone for the 2010 Whelen Title..Could be a lil off the wall, but I wouldnt be suprised to see Gord near a top 5 car at Delaware and repeat his 2009 Barrie title
#2 Ron Quesnelle -- The winner of 3 Barrie features last season, including the season ending 50 lapper.. It wouldn''t suprise many, if any to see Quesnelle challenge Shepherd or McLeod for "top dog" at Barrie Speedway.. The 2005-06 Sunset champ is always a decent bet for a podium wherever he shows up but look out this could be the "darkhorse" for the Barrie title.
The remainder of the top 10 to follow in 48 hrs..
I think you better put Mr. Al Inglis in there, blackflag. Word has it he has been working on his car early this year, usually he waits till two or three days before racing starts. I think we may see the makings of one hell of a season. Keep up the good work Dave , we all enjoy your words of wisdom.
OHHHH believe me the "Red Rocket" was on my radar ZERO..LOL
In fact I had him and Baker in a dead heat for 3rd but looks like Baker is runnin for OSCAAR Rookie awards so here you go..
#3 Al Inglis-- Long been one of the top LM/Challenger drivers province wide.. Al has done it all including steady progression to the front of the Barrie point standings since his return on a full time basis in 2007.. 3 feature wins last season including the Mid Season 50 lapper, nobody could overlook the #69 as the season approaches.. Did hear a rumor Al might be Sunset bound about Xmas, but due to proximity that looks unlikely.. One of my last great TRUE LM memories was Allan dominating an invi race in 2002 at Sunset from the pole in a field that also included Walters, Pete Shepherd Jr., Todd Campbell, and Dave Bartlett among others..Make no mistake with top 5 results in ALSTAR, Fall Colors, and the Grisdale LM Series at Flammy, along with 2 Mosport LM titles.. The 69 WILL factor in the final points if he chooses to opt for the full year at Barrie..
😉 😉 😉 AWWW what about the 28 of Robin Jongen!!!,,he is no Slouch and don't forget the Bakers or is he running Sunset???
I could be wrong but i'm almost positive i heard Keith and Al say that they were both registered to run full time at Sunset this coming year.
