Not any longer!!! Make that 8 feature wins for Ron "The Dominator" Quesnelle.. Gave him that nickname cause it seemed fitting with his winning record this year and the fact he's a huge Red Wings fan and Hasek used to be their goalie..

Really remarkable what Ron's accomplished over the last season and a half at Barrie, winning a remarkable 17 feature races over that time period.. I'd hazard a guess a record like that hasnt been seen since the mid 70s at the track during the heyday of "Mighty Mike" Shaughnessy in Late Models and Garry Reynolds tenure in the 6 cyl division.. Not sure of the year (THINKIN 1976)  but I know Mike won 14 of 16 features in one season and Garry won 13 of 16 a couple seasons later I believe.

I tend to get really confused when thinkin of the # of races we've got in this season.. Been 7 full race nights when you factor in the Fri night make up for May 14th rainout and then the 8th night was a partial on May 28 when 3 features got rained on.. So in essence when we make up those 3 races we havent lost a single night from the schedule to date.. How many tracks can say that with some of the crappy weather we've been having..

Thank god for APEX Motorsports!!! Rick and Di are straight shooters and tremendous race fans themselves.. They should be commended for sticking it through on some questionable nights as last night was... Heck if this was last season with these weather patterns we'd be just having the season opener right about now!!! ;D

Shaughnessy and Reynolds both won all their features running once per night and starting at the back of a 20 car field. All due respect to how dialed in Ron has the #57 but I don't think the comparisons are truly fair.

Well that part is kinda obvious I thought, since there were no twin 30 lappers in those days!! 😉 My thought was more like the 57 is kinda having one of "those type seasons"... Also reminincent of Walters Sunset 90s type domination!! Sorry if you took my thought the wrong way!!LOL

Well don't let it happen again 🙂  😀 ;D *lol*

He seems destined to take the Barrie crown as long as he can keep the pace up.

Has anyone noticed the trend where the fastest car at Barrie wins the title the year after?
2007 my brother set the track record but finished 2nd to Baker.
2008 Gordie is very fast all year but Keith wins the title
2009 Gordie takes the trophy but the 69 has become the fastest guy by season end. Although some RRR types could argue this point as Gordie was pretty fast all season.
2010 Alan wins but Ron appears to be faster.
2011 Ron seems on track to do the same although right now he is still the fastest guy out there.
