Well after a week hiatus and some helpful computer tips I"M BACCCCCCK.. 😉 But sorry to disapoint gonna have to keep this to pretty much results for now and comment a bit more in the morning..
In the LLM division #2 "Hometown" Mike Brown would win the 30 lap finale to the evening.. Really nice to see Mike finally win one after being so close and consistant all year long, and especially after leading for 26 laps last week then having to settle for a 2nd to eventual winner Shepherd.. Brown's A&R Disposal Services Dodge led wire to wire in this one, as he received a stern challenge from #54 Randy Bull throughout the last 7-8 laps.. Bull, would have his best Barrie finish to date with a 2nd, while Shepherd, #11 John Gaunt, and #69 Al Inglis made up the remainder of the fast five...
The first 30 lapper went caution free, as current point leader #57 Ron Quesnelle snatched his 8th feature win of the season in just 14 races.. Decent race saw Quesnelle capture the lead on lap 4 after contact with the 54 of Bull, who just looked to overcook turn 2 and got a little crossways as Quesnelle nudged him then powered through.. Defending track champ Inglis would finish a solid 2nd, and really looked to be closing on Quesnelle over the duration, as I suspect something was slightly amiss under hood of the #57 Sunrise Toyota Camry.. Shepherd, would also finish 3rd in this feature to cap off a solid point night for him, as #8 Dave Lewis, and Gaunt rounded out the top 5..
In Thunders it was the 2nd hat trick of the year for the 12 of Belesky, taking both heat races and the 30 lap feature... Second went to the 24 of Leonard Johnston, who stayed pinned to the Prince's bumper, never more than a car length behind.. #10 Rick Walt continued a solid string of podium finishes with a 3rd, while promising upstart #55 Shawn Goggins and #52 Greg Callow completed the top 5..
The PS division would see a familiar face claim feature gold as #02 Shawn Murray captured the 25 lap win, after a thrilling mid to late race duel with #14 Billy Melenhorst.. Fourth feature win on the young season for the always stout and competitive 02 team based out of Alliston...#89 Cory Horner also made his presence felt after returning to the track 3 weeks ago, slipping inside Melenhorst in 1&2 after a late race restart, to bring his Chevette SS home in the runner up spot.. Melenhorst, finished a very game 3rd after running the outer groove for virtually the entire race, while #91 Andre Pepin and #19 Tim Foster also put together solid runs to finish 4th and 5th respectively.. First top 5 on the season for the 19 of Foster so bit of a shout out there!!! 😉
Heats as mentioned went to Murray x2, Horner, and #13 Dave "Gipper" Glaze..
good to see ya back blkflag! 🙂
Why thank you very much Miss Dixon!!! :-*.. What was the issue with your car this time sweetie?? Tranny issues that I read about on fb?? Too bad if so, your sure having a tough time this season keeping that Malibu in one piece..But that said nobody can ever accuse you of not being determined!!! 😉 You must be just itching to get a full 30 laps in under race conditions I'd imagine..
In lieu of no report last week I'd like to commend our owners once again on some of the recent promotional ideas they've put together as of late, including some TREMENDOUS door prizes.. In addition to the Rock 95/Perkinsfield Kitchens Best Seats in House nightly draw announced a little over a month ago they have since added a few more QUALITY door prize draws... Included in this are a weekend pass for two for the CMT Music festival at Burls Creek in late Aug (estimated value of $420.00)
Also it appears Barrie has conjured a bit of a deal with Oshweken Speedway in that we are now also giving out two tickets nightly to both the "Night with Tony Stewart" show on July 26th as well as two tickets to the World of Outlaws show the following night.. I had read something about this partnership shortly after Rick and Di took over in one of the local papers here, but figured it might of been a misprint or such.. Nice to see the genorousity of the Styres family in supporting Barrie and its patrons.. Which brings me to my next question.... Is Oshweken in turn giving out Barrie passes?? Perhaps for the NCATS race in Sept?? Are you in the know on that Tommy??? Great idea for both tracks involved as it could open the eyes of perennial asphalt followers up to the exciting world of dirt tracks and vice versa...
Again I will add a bit more on the actual racing of last night a bit later, but for now its off to dreamland... Till next time.....From the Cheap Seats
yeah tranny again 🙁 frig even finishing a heat race at this point would make me happy.. i have the speed almost and now i just blow the car apart every week.. i think its karma lol, i had no major issues last year started and finished almost every race other then a few when i spun out and the car was too hot and wouldnt re-fire so now im paying for it by breaking something major 4 weeks in a row. determination is all i got left, wont get anywhere quitting.. 🙂
Dave if we can ever help you out with your comp. give me a call will tune it up like the Prince car , fast fast. WE have the tec. Good to see you back, Paul
