khane freak, as far as barrie being a run groove track, no different at peterborough. now i have seen on occasion tracks south of the border put out pilons around inside lane during practice so a second lane is there to make for more exciting racing. i know this works as in 2007 every practice night i ran outside at peterboro and made a second lane. funny thing was most other drivers had it in there head that their cars would not stick out there and chose to run inside lane. i have every video from that season and 90 percent of the time i was running outside lane, which led to a championship, i do not think if i had stayed on inside lane and played follow the leader that i would have won championship.i wonder is this something that tracks could try and see if it helps.waiting around in single file racing for the car in front to slip up is not exciting racing to me, having to drive hard into corner on outside and making passes out there is balls out racing to me.
congrats to #54 randy bull and his team on his feature win saturday night. have not been to barrie so far this season but have heard how good he was doing, figured only a matter of time before randy found the checkered flag!
don, they do the pylons at barrie weekly!
jim, did not know that. so, after years of watching good two lane racing at most tracks, what has changed to have only one lane to race on? is it something we as drivers have done, track surface, tires? just curious as to what has changed.
Another thing i think Barrie needs to do is get rid of the track promoter because he doesnt stick to what he says in the drivers meetings he is always changing his mind. And the way he talks to the drivers. I was in the meeting a couple weeks ago and almost every word out of his mouth was F this F that. Like thats not right i understand he was mad or whatever but come on. And they want more cars well get rid of him and bring someone good in. The new track owners are great but he isnt helpin. Like he is taking the fun out of racing!! Let the drivers have some fun. Bring back the old school racing. Like i believe the promoter use to bump and rub when he raced like come on, its racing.
