One of the most important thing about all 4cyl is gearing.  With the DOHC you need to be high in the RPMS.  If you're asking it to pull from 3.5-4K onwards, you're asking for it to be slow(er) off the corner but scream once it's in the high RPM's.  Ptbo and Kawartha are consitently in the higher RPMS.

I have never been to Sunset or Barrie, but if you're RPMS are dropping around 3.5-4 the DOHC I don't think the DOHC would dominate but if they can keep the rpms above 4.5 or 5, they'll dominate.  Example is the neons at CCS.  The SOHC is the motor to run, although they hit 6500 at the end of the straights, they're coming out around 3500 which is perfect for the SOHC but horrible for the DOHC whereas I know a couple guys went down to Kawartha with the DOHC and spanked everyone(last yr). Much higher RPM's at Kawartha.

Slammer's got a point about the weight, if you can put it where you want, weight isn't necessary a bad thing....Juriga's car had to weigh a minimum of 2650 and he did.

I don't see anything wrong with 16v as they are more plentiful than the older 8/12v cars. You have the 16 valve hondas and 16 valvle neons which are a dime a dozen.  If you're worried about the 16 valves kicking everone's butt, they should do as they're thinking...have an 8/12 class and 16 valve class......but i still think a 16 valve(sohc) around 24-2500 and 8/12 valve around 2200 you'll be fine to run them together!

I don't think you want to open up import dual cam cars, although it would be fun as hell I guarantee you nobody would have nothing for a Civic, Integra etc with a DOHC that is set up to handle. They would spank most Thunder Cars at both tracks here.

ROTFL

Isn't somebody upset about their banquet somewhere? I coulda swore I heard them calling for comments from the Peanut Gallery.

I did change it to some  however, it was a little funny. Don't get me started on lap times times Ross, I can on my own run 17.0 17.1 at Sunset and have run close to that at BSW my first time there, "blkflaggin" can vouch for that as he timed us.  Give me 50 more ponies in my 2600 lb full framed civic and it won't be pretty.  ;D

I was only trying to make a point about the weight penalty idea. Why penalize a guy who chooses to run a honda. Joe how many features did you win this year? 6-7, so with the proposed added weight your car would weigh around 3000 lbs. And that's where Slammer is correct about safety. A couple of years ago at SS the battle between Colt and Ince, I know just about every week they wanted to throw 50 lbs into Ince's car(don't know about Colt). Because they dominated every night. I know if I were to build a mini you can as sure as S**T it would be a Honda.
