“Qualifying today was the first time we put on a brand new set of tyres. We imbalanced the car a little bit - it had lots of front, but didn't have enough rear and around a circuit like this you need a flowing, balanced car, which we didn't have. We were still happy with seventh and I think it's something we can build on for tomorrow. In the race itself, I got a good start, got away cleanly and had a really good car at the beginning. We opted to pit straight away when the pit window opened to try and get some clean air. We had a really good battle with Shane (van Gisbergen) and Frosty (Mark Winterbottom) for most of the race, but right at the end there we just didn't have the rear tyre life that we wanted. All in all, the car was still quick when we were in fresh air, which is encouraging, so we've got something to build on for tomorrow. If we can get the car to look after its rear tyre life a little better, I think we'll have a much better car and a faster car overall. Saying that, we still had good pace at different times and that's something that we'll look at tonight to make sure that we improve for tomorrow.”
