“It was an unbelievable race to be honest! For us, it was a little bit of luck. We opted to pit on the first lap as we wanted to get some clean air, which we were able to do. A couple of laps later we were fortunate enough to have a safety car, which helped us leapfrog into fourth position. From there on, it was a great race and the car was much better today than it was yesterday. We were able to hold with the leaders and have the pace. We were able to pass Rick Kelly on the restart (of the first safety car) which was all-important and then the three of us at the front pulled away from the rest of the field. As the race went on, the car was getting better and better. We obviously had to do our final stop, but we still came out in third position. We had a great battle there right at the end with Will Davison, I knew he'd be strong towards the end as he had a little bit more rear tyre life than us, but for us, it's great to come out of this weekend with a second, so I'm very thankful to the team and the work they put in overnight. Going into turn four, there was oil down. I was following Will and I could see in front of us that Shane (van Gisbergen) and Frosty (Mark Winterbottom) had troubles on the oil, which obviously allowed us to back off a bit earlier, dodge the oil and come out in second position. We're very fortunate and very lucky, but the car was strong enough to finish second and, for me and the TeamVortex crew, it's a great result and hopefully there are many more to come.”
