"We had a great day today. I think that Richo (Steven Richards) starting in the co-driver session really helped us to understand where the car balance was. We went into our first practice session with a reasonable car and we managed to massage the car throughout practice one. We only used one set of tyres, so right at the end we did a mini race-run just to see what the tyre life would be like on the worst tyres on a hot day and we learnt a lot. We started practice two with a better set of tyres and over the course of the session we put on another set, which helped us develop the car more. Then right at the end we put on a brand new set like most people did and simulated a qualifying run. The car had a little bit of understeer, more than I'd like, but to still end up P2 was really good. We've got a little bit of work to do, but considering where we ended up, we're happy with the progress of the car over the day."
