The larger problem people seem to not see here is that the lack of driver respect and subsequent lack of black flags on the track has caused these wrecks, not the "safety" of the cars. If drivers are allowed to bash each other and not suffer consequences, then the wrecks happen. Yes, the lack of safety equipment raises the stakes for an injury but if the drivers didn't bash into each other then the wrecks wouldn't happen as often in the first place.
Yes, raise the safety standards, no argument there. But get to the root of the problem first!
And I agree with you 100% Amanda, the Barrie setup is ideal. If they're gonna rewrite the Four Fun rules anyway they should consider going that route instead.

Those that drive without respect for others do not care about safety. This includes themselves. You will find that most of the car with reckless/dangerous drivers, will not have the safety requirements in them.
Adding the safety requirements does 2 things, makes that cars safe, and those that have no regard for themselves or others get pissed off and don't come back...
Just watch...

We've already had 2 delays this season which accidents in 4 funs, you all know the accidents I'm talking about.
Not to be a pain, but one of the cars involved in the first delay this year, had a full cage if i'm not mistaken.
i was going to ask if the car had a cage
didn't they go through the passenger door because that car had bars?
and what was the injury sustained because it looked like the drivers door wasn't too beat up.
was he wearing a neck brace? or was it something with the belts?
what happened that a cage could have prevented? not that i'm saying no to cages but so soon to ruin everyones season? there has to be a middle ground we've been running 3 years like this....it needs to be safer but save this season somehow
couldn't they just cancel the division for one week and inspect all the cars and weed out unsafe ones? cars or mandate one or 2 extra bars instead of killing peoples season for what turns out to be a track oversight in the first place? spend some time to try to think of a solution that is friendlier to the drivers who have supported the track. the easy thing is to ban everycar without a cage. the harder thing to do that is worthwhile to all would be to find a middle ground to save the season for the 4 funs. how many cars will race this week? not many in that division...
people registered for an entire season and built a car to the rules and are being stripped of what they paid for the way things are
