Who Killed the Sunset Four Funs???????????

Oh Brendan, I agree.

It's sad when FourFuns as a group complained (or at least a little group complained.) I may have even (unknowingly... I try to be nice to everyone you know.)  been involved! But I don't complain much. I think a lot of people know that. I could be a big female doggie in heat, but I don't complain often. And usually if I do, it's followed by a sad joke about my slow ass tank of a car. But hey, I do what I do and love it. But I know some drivers cried and stomped their feet all season (more than I did during the rainouts haha) about not getting enough time on the track. I can see thier point, but still. 🙁

I don't care that I never won, I drive one of the heaviest and biggest cars out on the track. Anybody who knows me knows that I am happiest in that thing! No matter how much you guys make fun of me hahaha

I agree that new track ownership had it out for us since day once, promised us that these things like the cage and fuel cell and seat and such can be done by the 09 season. And then to change gears and say DO IT BY THIS WEEKEND. Ridiculous. I fear that I won't be finishing this season, I sit here and say that's sad, I sit here and wonder what I am going to do with my time on a Saturday when I can be racing, but can't, because my car suddenly doesn't fit new random specs.

BlackFlags used to be EVERYTHING. I remember how f'in ANGRY I'd get over getting one. But now I am dying to see one being flagged at somebody and for good reason. I look back and know WHY I got them now. But hey I can get t-boned and nobody even gets a shake at, as long as I keep going and don't cause a caution, WE'RE ALL GOOD.

(Not that when I got t-bones it was anybodys fault... it just happened to happen. I am not putting blame 🙂 DON'T WORRY.)

I'm just sad that I probably won't be racing anymore this season. I agree with ragracing, maybe we should request a meeting with the Owner to discuss this. But who knows if he'll ever give us the time of day...

Well Ashley if you need a fix one nite you are welcome to come out on a Wednesday night and take my car out for a few laps... no worries and it will give you an itch to get your car ready for next year.

There is solo racing . Usually a course is set up in a large parking lot using pylons and it is quite cometitive. I am not sure if a non licensed for the road car qualifies however. But, it could keep the racing spirit alive for those who can no longer race at Sunset. Try a google search, there is a club that holds events frequently around the GTA.

Thank you so very much for the offer, but because of work I haven't been out on a Wednesday all season! 🙁

I understand its alot to add these things to your car, and only given one weeks notice. But something seriously needs to be done. I wasn't there on saturday night, but my Mom told me about the accident in the 4 funs. It was only a matter of time before someone got seriously injured or worse. We've already had 2 delays this season which accidents in 4 funs, you all know the accidents I'm talking about. Luckily those people weren't seriously hurt in the end, but at the time everyone wondered. Wouldn't you want to know you were safe out there?? Everyone has to go to work Monday morning.. and remember this is supposed to be a hobby! OHHHH and it's supposed to be fun! But you'd never know it these days..

I'm happy something is being done to protect you guys out there, maybe I don't agree with the time line. But something needed to be done. You guys should have never raced with out a full roll cage etc.

I think Sunset should do what Barrie has done, have an "A" class and a "B" class, both divisions would have all the same safety rules, and if once a rookie driver got comfortable competing in the lower division they could move up, with no changes needed to there cars.
