Those that drive without respect for others do not care about safety. This includes themselves. You will find that most of the car with reckless/dangerous drivers, will not have the safety requirements in them.
Adding the safety requirements does 2 things, makes that cars safe, and those that have no regard for themselves or others get pissed off and don't come back...
Just watch...
I dunno...that can go both ways. Sometimes it's the guys with the caged cars that are worse - they feel they're pretty invincible. I was around this class for 3+ years and there have been a few perfect examples of this.
Just think of the guy at the bar who picks a fight - he's likely gonna make sure to pick an opponent that he can beat and if he can fight with a face guard and the other guy not, he'll surely fight harder. Maybe a bad example...I dunno...all I could think of. 🙂

I REALY HOPE that you are not including #15 in the class of " Drama Queens " you describe please clairify !!!!!!!
I understand its alot to add these things to your car, and only given one weeks notice. But something seriously needs to be done. I wasn't there on saturday night, but my Mom told me about the accident in the 4 funs. It was only a matter of time before someone got seriously injured or worse. We've already had 2 delays this season which accidents in 4 funs, you all know the accidents I'm talking about. Luckily those people weren't seriously hurt in the end, but at the time everyone wondered. Wouldn't you want to know you were safe out there?? Everyone has to go to work Monday morning.. and remember this is supposed to be a hobby! OHHHH and it's supposed to be fun! But you'd never know it these days..
I'm happy something is being done to protect you guys out there, maybe I don't agree with the time line. But something needed to be done. You guys should have never raced with out a full roll cage etc.
I think Sunset should do what Barrie has done, have an "A" class and a "B" class, both divisions would have all the same safety rules, and if once a rookie driver got comfortable competing in the lower division they could move up, with no changes needed to there cars.
The thing is Amanda, is that I have a budget for racing, and the budget I have now is for NEXT YEARS car. You've seen my Tempo, I don't want to put any money into that thing, I love it, but it's my last season in it. I just want to get in it and go, and get in it and go for the last 5 weeks of this season without putting money into it.
Of course things need to be upgraded and I believe some where maybe in this post, or in another posted responce I said that perhaps we should do the whole Barrie idea. But not to force it on us in ONE WEEK. I think thats what everybody's huge issue is. Or at least mine is. I don't know, FourFuns were told these rules were going to be implemented in 09, and if we wanted to we could begin to do it this year. Honestly, what about the FourFun racers who don't use Facebook or aren't on CRO, are they going o show up on Saturday and be told they can't race because the Track refuses to call anybody about these changes? I don't know. 🙁

Er, must I remind you that I was injured in my HEAD-ON collision in the last race of '06?
Not that I needed to go to the hospital or anything, but even the week after I could barely move or turn my head without experiencing some pain. But hey! I still get in that same car and go. 🙂
Whiplash is a nice female dog. 😉
I believe this will be
Total number of injuries sustained in the 4fun class in 3 years, ONE.
Anyone else?
