WHY ARE YOU FLOGGING A DEAD HORSE ABOUT TOM ON THIS DISQUALIFICATION. THE JURY HAS MADE THEIR DECISION THE POINTS ARE TALLIED AND HE HAS FINISHED 2ND TO CHRIS. ONLY TOM HIMSELF KNOWS WHY HE WENT OUT ON THE TRACK WHEN THE GREEN FLAG WAS WAVED,WITHOUT THIS INCIDENT HE EASILY WINS THE POINTS. I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST TOM AS I THINK HE IS ONE OF THE BEST DRIVERS I HAVE SEEN RUN THE 1/3 MILE OVAL KNOWN AS SUNSET SPEEWAY HE IS THERE WITH THE CLARKES, JR HANLEYS, TOM MILLIGAN, JACK COOK ..... BUT RULES ARE RULES AND YOU HAVE TO ADMIT WHEN YOU ARE WRONG. THE FUSS ABOUT THE POINTS WAS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY AS IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A ISSUE WITHOUT THE DRIVER MISCONDUCT BLACK FLAG, THE LEAD WAS INSURMOUNTABLE SO LET'S PUT IT TO BED ONCE AND FOR ALL AND COME BACK IN 2009 AND SHOW EVERYONE WHO IS THE BEST IN ONTARIO.

Wattie  Even with the dq ,just looking at the season results that walters posted here on cro,he has his total 2 more than morrow, any idea why. Thanks

Because when this poll was was started there was still the question about points.. No DQ, no issue.

It is interesting that most people support the rule, regardless of the situation with the 47

Ross,
I don't look after the points we have to accept the handicapper's decision as final the discrepancy goes back to June should that have not been looked at then ? It's too late it's over, final ! A true competitor would come back next year and show us who is the best.

Isnt the discrepancy with chris's point total and not walters, just going by the results posted here on cro in an earlier post by walters and aren't they also looking back into a small scoring error in the 4 cyls that could change their outcome.

I beleve the the difference between 1st and second in the 4's was one point, so......

The only possible error you can make in scoreing, if you are double checking the results (sum of the tottals of the cars equals the points avalible based on the field size) is that you have reversed the finishing order of 2 cars (its not very likely that you could screw up more than 2 cars finishing in consecutive positions without making a mess). So that being an easy error to make, but a hard to detect error, it still wouldn't matter most of the time. Difference of 2 points maybe, most championships are decided by more than 2 points, even in the Walters/Morrow case it was 10 or more points. For example if for one race 47 was scored 2nd and 11 scored 3rd when in fact, it was 11 in 2nd and 47 in 3rd, it would make no real difference. One point however....
