Steve are those recap tires on the Hoosier cores or the radial cores like the old Diamond Backs? It seems to be the same "Minneapolis Moline" tread pattern. And Ross the recaps come in all types, 880, 990, Sportsman, there are others. That's just the cores they used before recapping.

And the Vintage Modifieds are now using the American Racer tire now. They seem to get about a year out of those from what I heard... $155 a tire, that was a couple, 3 years ago.

So you guys can run either brand new Hoosiers or the Towel City's? That's crazy...

Someone definately should standardize the TC rules throughout the province... Maybe a Racing Association should be created and get all of the Thunder Car drivers in it, have a seperate points standings for the class, run wherever you want, whenever you want...

They are on the Hoosier cores

WOW!! all I can do is laugh EXTREMELY hard at the lies being spewed on here!! I am (No Lies) on the phone with towel city right now and guess what folks! the guy just told me that the first time he has heard from Wes was yesterday!! He said his equipment is working perfect and is making tires as we speak! He said Wes just placed his first order of the season since he has taken ownership. The REAL reason that we dont have tires is because he simply out right didnt order any! So the supposed order from 2 weeks ago is complete BS! Love the honesty!! >:(

Evan i think this is the post you were looking for.

OH MICKEY WHAT A PITY YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND....

WE GOT NO THUNDER TIRES AND WES' Coc Violation - Language IN YOUR HAND....

...kidding mickey it just rhymes

i have been posting on cro for a while now and although people may not agree with everything i say, other than when i'm continually frustrated or defending my team i try to be light hearted and provide a bit of comic relief.  I don't mean to be offensive to other members and guests of this site, or those not participating in the discussions here.  it's not in my nature...i wasn't raised that way.

although it may not have been clear, the above post was written in a joking context, following along the lines of that "mickey" song from previous posts...it had nothing to do with the thunder car tire situation or had any knowledge or vested interest in it...i race a roadrunner, the tire situation for the thunder cars is separate from anything to do with me or my team...

the second line of that post was a joke indicating the apparent closeness of mickey, whose identity remains a mystery to me and others, and wes the track owner...one way or the other talking about private parts of another person is a little off colour and i can see how it can be percieved as being of poor taste....i shouldn't have gone there in hindsight, and that is regretable for sure.

i was made aware late yesterday afternoon that the above post has offended wes and for that i truly and sincerely apologize to him.  i know he has inherited a tough situation and is doing what he can to improve the facility and operations.  wes isn't active on this site but has been informed only of what is written in a negative way and was upset when my post was brought to his attention.  i'm wondering if mickey has ever brought to wes' attention any positive posts about the track made by his racers...

i honestly thought that my post was so far out in left field that everyone reading it would identify it as a joke right away, and not pay much attention to it.  furthermore, i had indicated at the bottom of the post that i was kidding in an effort to make sure mickey knew i was kidding in order for him or her not to be upset by it.  i thought that was sufficient to ensure that no feelings were hurt and that i wasn't serious.

i don't know if anyone noticed yesterday afternoon but prior to me recieving this news i had made a post on the topic of sunset's improvements that the branches along the fencelines of the pits had been pruned and this was a positive for the track.  i'm pointing this out for all of you to know that i am not an anti-sunset prick, but i am interested in the success of the track for everyone involved with it from fans to employees to teams, and am more than happy to point out the improvements being made.  this was over 3 hours before i knew of this situation.  i know for fact that this positive post had not been brought to wes' attention, only the joking one about mickey...

had i known that i would have upset wes at all, never mind to the point of him wanting to suspend me for 4 weeks for the post unless a retraction was made, i would never have done it.  i understand now more than ever that not everyone shares my sense of humour and what i write can ruin someones day..

i will try to use more discretion in future posts as to make sure that this doesn't happen again.

i am 3rd in the points now and have made commitments to my sponsors who in return have provided me with great support to appear at all of the events and promote them to the best of my ability, i follow the sunset rules and have paid a registration fee and a pit pad rental as well have countless hours invested in the car itself and would be devastated to lose it all due to a dumb joke on a public discussion form....

so once again i apologize to wes for the post and look forward to the rest of the season at sunset racing for epic motorsports with the great guys/girl who make up the competition.

WOW 4 weeks?

This whole thing is getting out of hand. When banning and suspensions happen because of conversations on the internet. I remember talking to Glenn in the past and laughed then said did you hear about this being said on the internet. He would shut me up on the spot and said I don't want to hear or believe anything said on the internet. If somebody has a problem or wants to tell me something they can call or talk to me in person.

For me personally if I was having things said about me and my business in a public forum I don't think I would be handing out suspensions or banning anybody I would try harder to make people happy and see that I am an ok guy.

This a a very passionate sport which I guess most sports are really (heck I have been bowling for years and you should see how people get worked up if you touch there ball, the temp isn't right in building, oil on lanes, the lady in lane beside has perfume on and management should ban her). You need to have that one person that stands up in front of you with head held high and chest puffed out and a smile on their face saying I am here for you and can deflect all your frustrations.

When you get involved in any sport most people participating can act like babies. I am not putting down racing at all I am just saying we have all seen the different personalities in all the sports we have ever been involved in.. the prima donna, the bully, the showoff, the whiner, the easy going guy and on and on. Every sport has somebody to deflect this stuff from coaches to conveners.

Sunset needs that otherwise everything just seems sneaky. I guess from here on forward I will watch everything I am saying because I am starting to feel paranoid now.

I have always said net has it's good points and bad points. it's good to get you message out to hundreds of readers but then once you have hundreds of readers that means hundreds of opinions and that when it seems everything gets out of hand. one or two people can agree on something most times or work something out. But then you throw in hundreds of opinions and it can explode.

I hope this all works out as you all have one thing in common the love for racing.
