Maybe someone could give Username the person to talk to about his concerns and others that have issues with the way they were scored.
There should be someone that would like to hear this and maybe fix the problem or is it too late. Don't leave them wondering if they are wasting their time talking about it.
Slammer you have your opinion of what happened and I deleted them to try and defuse the arguing and that is why they were removed. You may have ment well about the images and tried to have some fun but others were upset and I deleted I never warned you about them as no warning was needed. I just felt it was the right thing to do and I have to make these choices and I take the heat for it but that is the position I'm put in as the owner of this site.
I wish I could wave the magic wand and make everyone happy but it doesn't work that way.
Yes you are right that it is my board but I have to consider other members feelings and what members want. People don't see the emails and pms I get from people when these bashing sessions go on. I have to deal with and if deleting your posts and leaving is the way you feel I'm sorry you feel this way but it is your choice and I respect it.
This board is for everyone and not just drivers and teams that want to bash each other about what happened at the track. Why not do it like professional and call each other after people have calmed down. Coming here and yelling at each other doesn't solve anything as I have said before.
Wow
As far as who to contact. The reality is this has turned into a dogpile so anybody you talk to will shrug it off.
The truth is the top of the food chain IS Wes. That should be your go to guy and the guy that wants to make everybody happy. He hasn't presented himself as being approachable and with the comment at last week drivers meeting that "Wes doesn't do drivers meetings" I am sure I am not imagining things.. he is an investor and if he is and wants to be that way he needs a figure head like I imagine Glenn was suppose to be.
After my conversation in the tower with Linda she had told me to come see her any time about points. She was very very nice to talk to and very very understanding of drivers concerns. Told me I can even come up to the tower after each race and compare notes if I wanted to. Maybe if EVERY driver did this they would get the point that we need to give assurance to drivers that they are not sailing on a ship of fools.
As far as seeing Matt go that is just too bad but I suppose that is how things go when you live in a society where communism comes in the guise of democracy
forum
1 a: the marketplace or public place of an ancient Roman city forming the center of judicial and public business b: a public meeting place for open discussion c: a medium (as a newspaper or online service) of open discussion or expression of ideas
2: a judicial body or assembly : court
3 a: a public meeting or lecture involving audience discussion b: a program (as on radio or television) involving discussion of a problem usually by several authorities
Good or bad a forum should be open and allow individuals to a chance to express themselves. Yes username was upset and might have posted something to quick but with what has gone on for the past 4 weeks with the scoring who would blame him.
From what I see the transition at the track has not been a great one. Rules have changed, scoring missed, flag men who do not know how to set up the cars and tech guys yelling at drivers and not doing what they should be, checking the cars to make sure they are legal.
Thank you username and Slammer for having the nuts and bolts to express what many feel
OK one more I promise and thats it ;D
Something that you need to keep in mind Evan is this is a public forum with some very open ended, easy to manipulte set of guidlines. Each person who registers agrees to them and should try to understand and interpret them to the best of their ability. Those who are creative may find a way to bend those guidlines to suit their needs others may just follow them.
If somebody who agrees to these terms is offended by something that is even remotely borderline within the boundaries of those guidlines and chooses to hit you up for a tissue to wipe their bubbling nose within the privacy of your PM in box, and you choose to remove something from the forums to accomodate them, you have a problem. You have now become the recess monitor for a grade school sandbox, Johnny is wetting his pants because Bobby said his mom wears Army boots so you opt to remove Bobby from the sandbox. It is not Johnny and Bobby having the issue any longer it is now you having an issue with both.
Don't open a candy store to a bunch of 9 year olds and put up a sign that says don't eat the candy and not expect them to touch it and lick it, even at that age they know how to manipulate the rules.
You will spend the rest of your days policing and micro managing the whole lot and never get anywhere. Their issues with hurt feelings are not your problem, lose the open door policy to listening to it. Sooner or later they will learn to fend for themselves. Kids at 2 years old learn to wipe their own backsides, I am sure a bunch of racers can learn to do the same.
If forum user A has a problem with forum user B posting a picture of his bigwheel that was stolen when he was 6, tell user A to discuss with user B himself. You only need to police the guidlines, not mop up tears for a bunch of so called adults that don't have the nads to take it up with the poster.
Doherty and I actually had a laugh about it at the track last night.
You don't need to please anybody buddy, they are on this forum because they want to be, if they are that easily offended send them a link to Dr.Phils website and they can express it on his forums. 😮
