Calling someone names is bashing.
Why should we buy you an engine?? Maybe I should ask you for money for all the emails I have to read because of your comments? but I wouldn't if I have a issue with you I will PM you and let you know.
This is to everyone
It's plain and simple using the board to fight against tracks, series and other drivers/teams is a no win for all involved and I know this to as I have used the board myself to show my displeasure as well. Nothing gets solved.
I know we are not all going to get a long and I know members here have issues with me as well but bring it to a public forum hurts the sport I feel. I know we all show a passion for the same sport and I think we all need to take a step back and see how we can resolve things like this as the way it has been going on for the past 6 months has hurt us all in some way or another.
Some my have lost sponsors, money or some may have been hurt by the word spoken here.
I know some people think it is great when the topic gets out of hand like this and some like to egg it on but when it is about them the tables seem to turn and people send emails to me remove posts or delete my account and posts. I'm not deleting messages as I see messages on the board after it is deleted that I don't allow people to express their opinions or I have favorites or I'm deleting posts.
You can't have it both ways here when it suits your needs or you have been hurt.
We have to learn to respect each other I'm not saying you have to like each other
Maybe this the best way to explain it. When you are on the track you have respect for your fellow drivers and for the most part you try not to wreck the other guy. It should be the same way on here. Talk to each other make your point, express your view but not to the point where it turns out to be a yelling match.
Here is a great way to look at a post when you have an issue that has made you mad.
Write the message don't post the first copy of it as your will see when your read it the first or second time that you might have said some hurtful things or your point is not clear.
We all want to be heard but invading someone else space to make your point is not our given right. Most people can work things out. People may not know it but I have spoken to Dave D. I was really peeved at what happened and I know I said a lot of things I may have not meant. We don't have to be best friends but we can talk to each other and who know maybe in the future we work together who knows.
I hope this makes sense
Good Night and Yes My Detroit Red Wings won the cup tonight
Evan i'm stating facts it sounds like bashing because it's that bad.
if canadian racing online wants to purchase me a competitive 12 valve engine to compete at barrie by all means i will switch but i registered, paid for a pitpad and built my car for sunset and i'm broke....
i'm tired from all this....
good post evan, but i do know for a fact that the BSW ownership watches this site so any ideas or quams i may have i like to talk about on here as i know they will see them...
That is fine but people fighting and calling people names? That is just not right and how serious are they going to take you.
Make your points, do something about it. Get others involved in a positive way but cheap shots from many doesn't solve the problem you have with the track.
Here is what I would do.
Talk to others on here and off and get together and arrage a chat on here in the chat room I could set up a private room password protected room for you and you can make suggestions and come up with a game plan ways t solve this problem.
Don't get me wrong everyone knows there are some issues here and good one.
good post evan, but i do know for a fact that the BSW ownership watches this site so any ideas or quams i may have i like to talk about on here as i know they will see them...
ok evan i hear you but the part about buying me an engine was just a joke to you to let you know i can't afford to go to another track.
the problems with scoring happenned every night so far, not just night 1.
talking to ken britt he added his points and he is short like 15 points or something, i was scored wrong this past weekend and there is someone in front of me in points that didn't finish a feature night 1 and I have been no lower than 7th...makes no sense.
JT racing got screwed ouut of a good finish....
anyways i'm beating a dead horse now, but if there was a phone number or a contact person to talk to this about we would be speaking with whoever is on the other end of the phone rather than complain here but it doesn't exist.
i called who i thought was the person to call and i haven't been called back....
a while back someone was knocking doherty and i defended him, but if he wants to comment to me just because i yelled at his buddy this past weekend for hitting our car 2 weeks in a row putting it into the wall the first time...i'll speak my mind as to the state of 4 fun tech at sunset...i'll give him a big hug and apologize for telling the truth if i see him saturday.... 😉
anyways if i keep going on this now i'll end up getting myself in trouble but i think we should be able to discuss this situation further (hopefully with less venom) after this weekend to see what happenned and if anything was fixed
i'm laying low now...have a nice couple days and good luck this weekend everyone
Owning, moderating a public forum for any type of game, sport or otherwise comes with a tremendous amount of responsibilty, the racing community by far is one of the most controversial groups you will ever meet. I own, operate and or moderate over 15 public forums ranging from U.S. politics, Racing, Online Gaming, Musical Theory and Instruction, the CRO boards are some of the wildest I have ever seen. But that is what racing is all about, when you get out there your emotions on on your sleeve.
Personally without any moderator status here I have managed to sidetrack a number of post with humour rather than watching them get out of control.
A number of my posts were edited and or deleted yesterday I think primarily due to a moderators own personal interpretation of what they insinuated.
These boards are a terrific communication tool, however the reality of it is most people that come here come for the controversay.
The main topic starters and posters on the board really consist of about 25 people, (the stats speak volumes).
These topics relating to Sunsets Points, website etc. have at some points become a little heated, the bottom line is they were succesfull at getting some very valid points across and relayed to the people that needed to see them. For that Evan you should congradulate yourself your forums may contributed in a big way to provoking some resolution.
Taking a jab at someone for stirring the pot, particularly somebody who is notorious for it on your boards was not insulting in anyway shape or form, yet it may have headed off a heated progression of events that would have turned out a lot worse.
username is my buddy, and in a comical way I threw a cartoon in there that did slow it up and he edited his post, I knew where that post would lead- he was upset, Doherty voiced his opinion, and it could have become worse before you had a chance to moderate it. It didn't instead you chose to remove my big wheel, and comic...and edit my post.
Granted it's your sandbox you can do as you please.
This site has a great deal of potential, the venting and arguments that take place here actually lead toward resolving a lot of issues, take the Barrie/Sunset rivalry that went on for a while, I think a lot of the Barrie 4 cylinder drivers felt a lot more welcome at Sunset during the Frost Special than they would have without what went on here.
I would suggest creating driver only forums that are not available to public view where a lot of this stuff can take place without having to babysit and over-moderate it to death. Let the drivers, track staff apply to join the private forums, this way potential sponsors of this site will not have to read through it all.
I and my group have a great deal of influence in the automotive industry in Southern Ontario, a lot of LLM, Thunders and 4 cyl bear sponsorship from a variety of my customers that have a sincere intrest in short track racing in Ontario, blending race talk into deal making is comon place for more me with more than 50% of my clients, all it takes is a suggestion promote themselves in an area like this if I think it would be beneficial and it would happen, aside from providing them with with a variety of automotive based services I also develop their websites and online marketing plans.
It is a shame our relationship could not have turned out a little differently than it did, No hard feelings, moderate as you see fit.
I have removed all my posts from the boards, this will be the last.
Good luck in your pursuits.
Matt
