Amanda, please tell me you mother does not do the handycapping. Last week I stood in tech and watched the 4cyl line up change 4 times, Cars that were last in the consi started at the front for the feature. Our friends from Barrie were told the could not race, Ya ya they got paid, who cares. Again this week we seemed to have issues, cars moved up, other downs. cars missed. To whoever does the handycapping, please get with it.
She sure does, and has for many years. Remember the shakell's -yah she's one of them! Been around racing longer then most of you on here, and doing the jobs she's doing for 20+ years. Do you have that experience? Probably not. Did your parents build a race track probably not?
What happened last week was she had to calculate all the points/percentages from the feature's that we're run at the beginning of the night, she had 2 other line ups ready, and someone was rushing her to get the 4 cyls out, why they wouldn't choose another feature to run, I have no idea. So when you rush someone they make mistakes.
She took over scoring 3-4 weeks ago, and has worked her a$$ off correcting the mess ups from the previous scorer. She's spent nights up to 1am, 2am, 3am trying to figure things out for YOU GUYS. So until you do her job, you shouldn't shoot your mouth off. Keep saying whatever you want Peanutbutter, real people don't hide behind user names, and if they have a problem they approach the person they have a problem with.

AS a long time Sunset Speedway Fan!! I can tell you more than you wish to know about Sunset, and all of the past owners who have run the speedway into the ground.
When Mr. Shakell built and opened this track, the whole family put their heart and sole into building it into a great track. than in 1975 Wes Good came along and took control of the speedway. he spent a lot of money to rebuild the track and after the first year it was standing room only, and wall to wall cars.
Due to a family matter Good left and Shakells took over for a short time, then the track was sold to Steve Slaughter, this was the worse thing that ever happened to SUNSET! Steve milked the crowd and the drivers for all he could get and when he was about to go broke he sole it to Glenn Lloyd,
Glenn a new person into the racing family, would not take any direction from any of the other promoters who tried to help him into the racing business. and as tie went by he sank lower and lower and required bail outs from may sources, until finally he could hold on no longer, and Good came along with an offer that was to good to pass up.
I only hope Wes can put the track back to what it was in the earlie 60 and 70, It was the best 1/3 mile track in ONT.
Now as far as all this complaining, I have heard ? that is the bitching and complaining with the four fun continues they will be gone.
As I understand it MR Good is just about feed up with this division, and is ready to pull the plug!!
When I had lunch with Wes last week, he said that that the other three divisions were trouble free and most were a pleasure to deal with.
I also understand from the drivers that there is a serious problem with the tech people. most of these guys don't even tech the cars but simply walk around it and let it go, I will be telling Wes about this that is for sure.
So as a forty year veteran of Sunset Soeedway take some advice!
Pay more attention to your driving, and less attention to bitching!

Mickey, Peanut Butter is a name that has just stuck with me. Yes I have seen some good changes, in fact I have had several conversations with Wes, a nice man who is putting some effort into the track. Our friend Amanda has been very vocal about how great the scoring would be once her mother was on board. If she can not take the criticism don't post.
I do not know what the tech or the tech guys enforcing the rules were like back when Wes had the track. Hopefully he can get a few of the old tech guys who have the knowledge and the balls to make the drivers comply to come back
So Peanut Butter and Jelly so the scorer department has one chaotic night since the new scorer started but if you remember that night it was double features so Deb had to calculate the points from the heats the week previous and from the features from the beginning of the night and score that nights racing and have it all ready for that nights features, which by the way there wasn't much of an intermission, I know she's good but she's not super women, she's human like you and me, and we all make mistakes. So keep whining and complaining about little mindless things to post on here, to make Sunset and the people who work there look bad. So if you have any positive things or ideas to help the scoring department post them, don't rip them apart.
