Today at 3pm I received an offer on Sunset, so I call my lawyer and and at 5 pm to day we signed the offer!!
there are 5 partners out of Toronto that OWN the track,
Mark Dilly and Linda ( ARE ONLY MANAGERS) of the track (no ownership)
Good luck to all, dam I hope they keep the schedule .. and the great purse for these races!!snot sticks too but that does not mean i will sit back and watch it thrown. no i do not race a sunset but i have been president of a club run track in the year it was finished being built and opened with very little sniping at my back. to what level of track mangment have been involved?
i hope they bring back the 4 funs and institute a no-contact rule again like when i started to teach new drivers to control themselves instead of a no-rules wreckfest and pay the minis 150 to win again instead of the 100 on this years payout and change the cheesy logo and re-vamp the website, i also hope they show up at a drivers meeting and face the drivers and make them feel like they are in the loop again...if they have the bike races again this year i hope the winner can get a first place trophy instead of a second place trophy like last year...and i hope the champion of the mini's gets more than $175 and the track champions get friggin' JACKETS like every year except last year!!! and the banquet ticket goes from 50 back to 35 like the year before for the same place and meal......thats what i'm hopingmaybe one should put up the$$$ and become the sixth partner and make all this happen.
ok let me re-phrase that for you so the post sticks this time.....longstreet those were all things that the year before happened so you miss the jist of my post altogether good work! btw do u race at sunset longstreet?

Hey guys give him a break, after all he is dating Glen's daughter!! what else can you expect?
Sunset's been sold, Wes Good is no longer in charge and Mark Dilley and Steve Slaughter Sr. are running the show!! The best thing that's happened there in the last 10 years!! Mark and Steve said a few words to the decent sized crowd during the break and Mark made some strong promises of what's to come for Sunset so finally, a TRUE sense of excitement might build around Sunset Speedway once again and it may recover from the morass it has suffered from for some years now. For example, gone before the intermission tonight was the prohibition against outside food and drink! When I arrived the signage was posted at the gate as it has been since it first appeared last year, and it was being enforced. However, word got to Messers Dilley and Slaughter and the order was recinded. The fans were informed by the management and the signage was gone by the time the show was over! THAT'S how to run a fan-friendly facility. Oh, and it appears that horrid "logo" is also history (Hip Hip HOORAY!!) as all souvenier merchandise was put up at 1/2 price, presumedly to get it the heck outta there so they can bring in a logo that is actually appealing!
The show ran smoothly, promptly and there was some great racing battles in all divisions throughout the night. Started at 6 and was done at 9:10. Minimal yellows and a good night other than that frigid and very strong breeze!!
I will be back. And BSW, take note on pulling the plug too soon...you blew it...big time.
I'm glad that a track got a show in. Here in Peterborough they made the call to cancel just after 3 PM. While it did clear for a few hours, the winds, rain and very chilling air came blasthing through at around 7:15. It was a good call despite the initial indications that it was clearing.
How many cars showed up at Sunset? Anybody remember who won the features?
best regards to Wes Good for running the race track and best wishes to the new management and owner team.
regards,
Doug Hanchard
Rob Poole won the LLM feature, and St Onge won the TC feature.
