Well SSJ I think you took what I said slightly outta context, but what can I say. I still value your opinion regardless, and think you are very much 'The Straight Shooter' your so aptly dubbed. I''m also very much aware you would have no qualms saying anything face to face, and I'm sure your aware the same applies in reverse. But as you dont seem to be aware I can carry on an intelligent convo about racetracks/entertainment/ world events/politics loaded or sober ( for which you never think I am).. so thanks again..LOL But my point is, if you think the lights were shut off at Barrie intentionally on Night 6 thats purely laughable.. Maybe Jim isnt the most driver friendly owner in the world ( something I've also never doubted or denied). Do you perhaps think if such a thing was said it might of been done just to amuse you Sunset folk??LOL I was in the tower that night:: seen the sparks, smelled burning wires, and while I'm not an electrician it was something about a fried column of fuses.. Not even sure column is the correct wording, but we'll go with that.. Almost had the same thing happen the week before, but I guess you discovered that too..Perhaps you should phone Hydro One and see where that problem originated from?? But knowing you I'm sure you covered that ;).. Better still ask the former Barrie owners (or anyone that has been around the track for a few seasons) if that has occured in the past?? You just might be suprised at the responce. What would be expected after the lights went out?? I know myself I wouldnt of stuck around for several hours/days to rectify that problem just to get a handful of races in, and I'm sure many other track workers would be with me on that..Innisfil DF?? Di*kless Fu*k.. Or would you prefer BW?? I could explain that one to ya later if you like??LOL And since you mentioned it.... it wasnt horney clown.. read again HOMEY!! Lots of love ... "The Professional".. Dave Vokey ....I do find it funny to call me an internet tough talker though.... seeing reflections again are we???FLMAO
??? Dave... Ya went a little offside there.
Just calling it as it is... How about we confine things to the issues at hand.
Steve Jr made allegations with peoples names, so if it isn't true, I would feel sorry for him. If something like that was actually said (which I tend to believe, because I don't think Steve Jr would stick his neck out like that if it wasn't) that's really too bad. I made my plans a long time ago, but if I hadn't, it would make me think, hard...
blkflag and Junior... The personal stuff is over on this thread. Settle it in private, please.
Again Dave, Jim Payetta said it to my face, whether it was faulty electrical or not, he stated that they shut the lights off, his words, not mine, Im just repeating it. I dont go and just make this stuff up, I was just proving a point. If that is true that the wiring was faulty or whatever it is that you claim you saw, then so be it but it was confirmed in a public place with plenty of people around that heard, not just myself and Mark. It is an incredibly stupid statement to make after such a coincidental happening? But then again, this is the ownership group that called the Sunset owners demanding they Fire mark because he was single handidly killing Barrie Speedway LOL! Again, another conversation I was witness to when the ownership group phoned mark laughing about it all. Im sure you will try to debunk that too but whatever you feel the need to do then go for it. I know what I know and you know what you know......
Just cool it with the offside comments next time dave and watch what you post online about the special olympics as well. I am a huge supporter of them and your FB status was completely disgusting too! you should be ashamed of yourself over that!
Cheers!
SSJ
I find it rather funny that Barrie Speedway is the "victim" after all of this, and Mark is the "assassin"
I bet they'd rather hire Mark after he was fired. That speaks volumes to the great job he is doing.
When they look at what they have done and finally get around to doing something about it, that's when things might change... Not a second sooner.
Why do we keep gong over this he said she said, Steve told me that news at the start of August and it was shocking, but I mean it's old news. If anyone here thinks we would be better off losing a track in simcoe county they are trippin' balls.
Barrie will need cars next year and all of this bashing will not help, where I choose to run will not be who pisses me off the least, or all the rumours, I am just going on competition, but if Sunset will have all the 'fast' cars, the guys running at the back or rookies or whatever would be nuts not to go to barrie and have a chance to run at the front. But something tells me it will all work out in the wash and there will be fast guys at both tracks like the last few years...hopefully people will know after the meetings where they are going so I can make my decision haha.
