Haha When I worked as a Service Advisor, we had a bar right across the parking lot from the shop (you can imagine what a great idea that was LOL) and I remember a couple times a big punch up after the bar for something like that... Usually with some mechanic picking up his toolbox the next day LOL 🙂

haha some other guy had his wife show up every pay day otherwise he'd blow the money out drinking, he was a big fan of semi-professional ballet 🙂

Ok, so I have read the posts, listen to people whine and complain verbally, read the crap on FB. Here is a way to look at things. The call was made by the "ownership" not "the management", and I have first hand knowledge that my dad actually tried talking them out of the decision so its not a case of people not wanting to work like "poacher" has so kindly stated. The ownership group made a slip up yes, but hey! when they slip and fall, lets put a sword underneath them, those owners that put almost $100k into the place just this summer alone and have over $500k ready to spend on track Thaimprovements over the winter. The same owners who didnt shut the lights off because they were losing their shirts one night, they never asked the drivers to run for 1/2 the $$ because nobody showed up in the stands, Pit road was paved along the back stretch, the dust level was cut atleast in half by pouring concrete infront of the stands, Drivers were set as FREE when they showed up to race, the concessions were disinfected and made more sanitary,  and the list goes on and on and will continue to grow on positives as the winter comes and goes. But hey! lets not point out that, let point out the mistake (that they are well aware they made) and crusify(sp) them for it? Hell, if it was me throwing that kind of money around, I would sure wanna clam up in a hurry after seeing all the ungreatfulness. Now life also goes with the reality that you cant please everyone and there are people that no matter what gets done or what they get, it will never be good enough.

Here is how it was put to me after I politely inquired about the decisions.....They are very very successful businessmen, they are at the point they are at for a reason and its not because of stupid decisions.....there have been mistakes along the way and they learned from them in a hurry along the way......in which case they already have over this decision this past weekend. So, you have $500k set aside for paving, reconfiguring, pit road, lighting, etc.... and its iffy to run on a weekend the weather man is calling for rain, all of that $$$$ is accounted for and you decide to run, lose $20k or $30k for the weekend because nobody parked their arses in the stands. Where do you recoup that $$ from?? That $500k, so now you are down to $$470k? What do you cut out of the off season construction? So no matter what, its a lose lose situation because people will complain about cancelling but if they run and lose their shirts and not be able to follow through on a promise and get dragged over the coals for that?

The reality is someone did not want to work this weekend, someone said to hell with it. Someone was tired of getting yelled at, so they pulled the plug on all of us. That is the truth, that is what a staff member was told when they showed up for work on Sunday !!!

So the above quote is irrelevant, I know first hand and I am not trying to sound better than you nor am I trying to argue with you, I am just staing facts.

The next time the weather looks iffy for the weekend, just cancel the whole thing Thursday or Friday, and save pissing off the entire province on the largest event of the year!!  Even today, Monday the skys have cleared at noon, and it piss-poured all morning.

I wonder if J.P. will look out his window at 7:30am and say, "ah its crappy from last nights rain, so lets just cancel the Autumn Colors Classic.

Im so glad I wasted money on tires for this weekend!

Charlie, if they were to do that, you would complain regardless, and Im sure you would just run elsewhere.......how many times did management stick it out regarding the weather and get the show in??? So one bad decision from ownership and you go off about it (shaking head)Thanks JUNIOR!!! You just showed what type of dickless homey clown you are!!!LOL
GROW SOME BALLS??? You know where to find if you care to spread anymorte of your "false truth"s" you Innisfil DF you betta be able betta be able to sing it betta than THAT!!!LOL

OT but I seem to recall the original 1/4 mile track and the 1/3rd mile track that replaced it had way more banking then the track has now. Three wide racing was the norm. Or was I smaller then 😉

It did look like it had more banking back in the day but i have been told by several people who should know that it is close to the same . I know someone that has blue prints of the current track at Sunset so it will be interesting to see what its next configuration looks like .

I have heard there will be a wall all around the inside next year .

Dave, when you sober up I would ask how it is that I am an "Innisfil DF" and explain to me how you would like me to grow some balls? I have no problem saying it to your face and you know that. I am just stating what was said to me, I heard it with my own two ears. Your statement exudes professionalism and Im postive that if I was to approach you face to face I would garauntee that you would not have the nerve to say any of this to my face because that is this type of person you are, you are an internet tough talker. Now last I checked, people could post their opinions and information on here freely and you have fired back with type of attempt at a failed insult?

By the way, I live in Barrie Dave, not Innisfil?

You also say I know where to find you, its at wickies, hammered out of your tree most nights, so if you can peel yourself away from the bottle long enough to sober up and attempt to carry on an intelligent conversation, then I am game bud, but until then, which I hold no hope of that, Im not intrested in engaging with you in any type of discussion, sorry.

One last note, your "Dickless Horney Clown" comment to me was completely uncalled for, but again, you oooze professionalism Dave......Bottoms up!
