well then get creative instead and get your car to turn, you can only go so fast if your car wont turn. if you get creative and make your car turn like a dream, then your going to be a lot faster than before even with minimal engive mods. now you can carry momentum through the corner and dont have to build up so much speed again down the straight

What does that have to to with not spending a fortune to build and engine?

When the guys that are winning the races have both power and handling, you need both to run with them. Plain and simple.

Somehow everyone thinks that when I speak about engine rules, I think that with more power it will solve everything. It won't. Its just one peice of the puzzle. But that is no reason to overlook it.

The outlaw rules are stupid..all that power and no slicks? u will never get ur car to handle..it will push in and be loose off...spending the money in other palces than power may be smart...

He has copied pretty much BSW rules, now he has made last seasons thunder car at his track engine illegal. The 74cc combustion chamber rule and the 1.5 exhaust valve.and it nows says no aftermarket shocks allowed. He is really looking for a fight,if he ever has his rule meeting. ::) ::)

74cc chambers were what the rules should've always been. There is the compression rule, 9.1, and the stock piston rule "OEM cast or forged pistons allowed. No high performance pistons".

Now to get your 9.1 compression, you have to run 74+CC heads, unless you get a dished pistion, which is not stock. Guess guys were doing that.

So the intend at one time was to force everyone to run smog 74cc heads and stock parts to keep the costs down. If you open it up to anything less that 74cc heads, then you can select from a few rare heads, and get an advantage.

1.5 exhaust is stock with the 1.94 intake. I guess a few guys took advantage of the rules and installed the oversided exhast valve. Again this cost us more money.

I'm glad to see that the rules are moving back to reduce the costs. The only guys that will be hurt were the guys dropping big bucks for the dished pistions and valve jobs. Since they have deep pockets and like thowing lots of money at a car, it won't be a problem for them to spend some to go back, so we can all compete without breaking the bank.

Selecting the Barrie rules to copy is about the smartest thing he could do. Its the closest track, with the largest number of cars. The Barrie rules can be run at any other track, where the opposite is not always true.

Dished pistons are stock,[COC Edit - Personal Attack]

One other thing comes to a forefront immediately: (Taken from Sunset Website)

Drivers meeting will be announced shortly.
If you need a printed copy of the 2009 Rules, print them off and bring them with you to the Drivers meeting.

Wow - track is not even providing hard copy of this to the drivers? I know EVERBODY has internet and EVERYBODY has a printer. Damn it where are the Lloyds or the Slaughters?

Yet another reason to say, "Hello Barrie Speedway"

Yes and they are about an 8 CC dish. Thats not really going to help you now is it?

If you have a "dished" pistion that is stock in a 76cc 8:1 compression motor, if you use the same dished pistion in the same motor with 65cc heads your compression is going to step up, over 9:1.

Now using your head, when I refured to dished pistions, I was speaking about pistions with MUCH MORE DISH THAN STOCK 8cc AND ARE NOT STOCK PISTONS. THATS WHAT YOU NEED TO GET YOUR COMPESSION RIGHT!! Maybe there is some rare pistion from a 1972 school bus, but same thing, its not stock.

Make an ignorant statment and call me a name.. Smart, real smart.
