Geez Gary.....your all over the map here......first you start off whining about the motors.......and end with bump stops...and just about covered everything in between. Now.......you say Dilly is going to penalize cars.....but don't state how many and for what reason. You want parity by applying penalties to cars that win?? Cars that have the edge?? Cars that are hooked up?? Then why the hell race??
In the first MRE Pro race.....the top 2 cars didn't lap the field.....but there wasn't a wreck on the 1st lap that took out some competitive competition either. As I said before....had that wreck not have happened......I feel the outcome of the race could have been different. It also would have been a better race for the fans to watch. Maybe the racers should start the race....by not trying to win it in the first 10 laps!!
Racing has been around for many, many years.....and will continue to do so. If a promoter puts on a good show....the fans and the cars will come. It's a proven fact. But when you want cars penalized because "they have the advantage", "they drive new generation cars with up to date technology", or because that driver is a champion, in my opinion, that is when the shows lose their integrity.
All sorts of racers wanted crates to make racing cheaper!! Guess what the guys with the $$ put it into their cars instead!!! So now instead of a $15k motor you need a $40k car to be competitive !!
Tom didn't win because he cheated , he won because he can drive , has a good car and took advantage of a flawed rules package that favours the LLM !! You can't blame him for that !

1000% right
Thane you are 100% right, bump stops are the least expensive way to go. We are on them and our car is very close, this isn't about me at all, or about Tom Walters. It's about bringing cars closer.
Mark Dilley says he will add penalties to the Limited Late Models, and he isn't doing it just to penalize one car or five cars, but to bring the competition closer. He will announce those penalties by next week, he's out west with his NASCAR team.
Many drivers were concerned about parity, but hopefully they will all return once the gap is closer. Matt Box will return, they love the track and the series. Even if the gap brings a dozen cars to par, it shouldn't change much in terms of who will be the front runners. What will change, and it was my reason for debating this in the fist place, is hopes of a better show for the fans, that would be the goal.
Tom Walters wants that, he wants to win it as well, and he may win it again, he might have to work harder next time but in doing so, the fans will get to see a much better race.
PS....Thane I hope you and your car are okay after the crash on Saturday.
Thanks Gary, the front clip is ok. Lots of bolt on and bodywork to replace. I am off the next two weeks on my annual vacation to Nova Scotia but am planning to run the double header on the weekend of August 4/5.
Polaris 13....nothings changed. My argument is with parity, and I gave many reasons why that might be (all over the map). The reason I gave a few variations was to detract from accusing someone falsely. Maybe there was a legit reason why the field got lapped, maybe it was because of the lap one wreck, or the crash by Jamie Cox and Jason Shaw. Last night at Delaware Jamie said his car had no damage from any wreck that night. His car was fine.
As for penalties I'm assuming all the 602's or LLM would be in the same boat for penalties not just the winner, everyone. Anyone can run a 604, a 602 or built, and run under the rules for either a Limited Late or Pro Late.
Most people want to see a competitive race period. I've defended Tom and every racer that's within the rules. No one has suggested anyone is cheating, only that most teams would like to see a fair playing field. I think that's simple enough.
