my stance on this situation is that tom one of the top drivers around as for cheating who knows the point is the llm 602 should have to weigh in at 2850 lbs the tires r made for a 2700 lb car making the 602 package one that is dominate for the entire race point being it is a late modelrace not a limited late why cater to the limited lates if tom is driving a house car why is mccoll not supplying him with a late model or r his limited lates better
Dont forget he qualified nearly half a second faster than most of the field so dont think it matters who was inthe wreck - damn fast!
Thank you ministock, skidder and GOFAST69, an excellent and rational contribution to an otherwise droll discussion, full of unsubstantiated accusations and innuendoes .
Circumstances and skill dictated the outcome, circumstances created in the main by some drivers eager to win a 75 lap race on the first lap and skill on the part of some drivers to avoid the carnage.
As my old mentor used to say
Rule # 1
In order to finish first, first you have to finish!

Why would McColl want to supply a 2nd car. The LLM gets the job done and Tom probably hasn't got time for another car. Besides I think there is a bigger market at Sunset for LLM's.
I didn't realize those tires were made for a 2700 lb car.
And I think traction control would slow down someone with Tom's driving skills (I don't know him personally, but I have seen him race).
Topper, this is anything but a droll discussion. It has many people trying to find some way of helping Ontario's LM scene. Whether Tom's car is legal or not is not my concern. I think it may well be, but when a LLM has won both MRE races and the Sizzler against some pretty stout Pro LMs that is a problem and shows that the rules must be tweeked to equalize the playing field as much as can be done. We will always have the haves and have nots no matter what the rules as long as they are equal and enforced. Like I have said in a previous post every LLM and LM track from Ottawa to Sauble to Delaware better get together soon and get a common set of rules. Case in point, our old friend Dster ( glad to see you back ) has given up on the short track scene altogether. I can honestly say that I am not too far behind. I have been to very few entertaining LM invitaionals over the past decade. I still try to get excited by the hype but am always disappointed in the actual car count, Autumn Colours exempted, although it could be better. And on those rare occassions a half decent field shows up they wreck everything in site. As I said before, I'll go to watch the LM shows that our team is entered in but thats about it. Went to Brighton for the Sprints this past weekend and paid fair admission. got cheap quick food, they had full stands, five classes of cars that had full fields ( 15 was the lowest ) and the sprints went three wide across the line at tthe checkers. Glen Styres won. Started at 7 and was out of there by 10:15. Actually felt that I got my moneys worth which is more than I can say about most of the pavement shows of the past few years. I hope they can figure this LM thing out soon and bring me and a bunch of others back to the track.
