Mark! I am on the floor! I love it! great jab at the owner of the brendometers! and yes you are right....one person can say that this person "said this to my face" but when someone else goes on public radio and is apparently speaking "On Behalf" of Wes, one tends to think that the communication factor still isnt there? Like it has always been since racing began, "I will beleive it when i see it".

one just needs to read his amazing, supercalifragolistic, exponentially perfect race reports to understand that the guy is a tool and ignore what he says...haha.

JR, in all honesty, I really feel for you guys that race there.  There seems to be this total air of confusion - noone gets the answers then all these rumours and stories swirl around muddying the waters further.  I hope all these unsubstantiated stories stop and you guys can get back to racing!

And yeah, I'm with you - I'll believe it when I see it.  🙂

Mark

And don't forget we are using a points system. This is no different than joining a bowling league, baseball league, hockey league or any other sport that is judged by a points system. Part of participating in any sport like this is the monitoring of how well you are doing. This is a barometer of how well your hard work is paying off without it it feels kind of useless.

I remember hearing about how somewhere in the States they were going to get rid of scoring altogether and every kid would get a pat on the back and a ribbon for their efforts. When Glenn had said the 4 Fun division was getting out of hand and not about fun anymore I had suggested to abolish the points system and simply hand out a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophy each night and $20 to everybody else for participating.

I have sat on top of the points before and know how it feels. I have completed a season and ended being the points champion and know how that feels. It is a lot of pressure but part of the sport, part of any sport. The most fun I think I had was when I told myself the goal would be to place in the top 15 so that I could get my $10 trophy at the end of the year. I would check the website every hour on the hour until it was updated to see how I had placed. I watched myself slip to 16th and back to 12th and finally after too many bad nights fall off the list altogether but did get a hard luck trophy which was just as cool to me.

Soooo for some just watching your bracket (racing with other 5th place to 10th place guys or 11th place to 15th place guys) is the reason we bust our butt working on our cars and spend the money we do in hopes of getting a $10 trophy and the thrill of watching where you place.

Dave has talked to a few other Mod teams and they are also interested in running at Sunset, because like I said in a previous post the 2 or 3 other tracks that run them are too far away, or people don't like the promotors.

for arguments sake...

peterborough speedway "talked to a few drivers" about running renegade trucks, and were told that almost 10 teams were building trucks to compete in the series inaugural season

now, for 100 points, does anyone want to take a stab at how many trucks peterborough has had thus far?

all im saying, is that driver talk is cheap...really really cheap...if wes were to hold an open practice session sometime this year, and have 10 mod teams show up...i would be all for the division coming back.

the bottom line is, you're right that it's a dieing division, but its a dieing division for a reason.

If these things were so great. why cant mosport and varney get more of them?

I'm really not looking to make this into a 7 page argument with any modified supporters, more so i'm just thinking out loud here...
