- Get the website under control for next year
That's definately a good suggestion Harold as a bunch of us really do like to check out the site to check things. If you need any help with that, I'd be willing to help though I will warn you that I'm not too good at HTML - just know some of the basics 😉

Monthly Newsletter
That's definately a good idea as it'd really keep us all in touch with each other and also keep everybody updated. We could set it up where people sign up through the website with their e-mail and then have it sent out to all those who sign up at the end or beginning of each month. A lot of websites I know do that and it does work well. I've actually kind of started the idea myself for my writing website.

a premiere event for every division
Good idea Joe as when they did the TC events, they definately brought people and other cars. So therefore by extending that to the other classes it would just make that even better.

Press Releases from teams featuring pictures of working on car
That's definately a good idea Evan, and if the site gets up and working good with Sunset, then it'd definately be a good idea to have them posted there for the fans as it'd keep them tuned in 🙂

I heard it was Saturday's as normal. Also what is going on with points? Are there going to be no points next year. Geez, I would keep track of the points. I am sure the guys don't care about the points fund money, they care about the hardware at the end of the year and all the bragging rights. I am sure a company would love to be the sponsor of the top 10 trophies for all divisions. Take the point fund money that would normally be given out and add it to the weekly purse. But split it up a little more evenly so it's not so lopsided.

Website does need work and could be detrimental when trying to attract sponsors. Must be neat and up to date. A newsletter would be pointless if the website was up to date then there would be no need. I could see doing a yearly program with all the registered drivers and their sponsors. As there is no internet at the track, some fans may want to know who's who while they are watching.

I love the video idea. Barrie use to do that back in the 80's. We have some of them still. Would be great for drivers and fans to purchase, plus the reviewing of positions could be very important when in a close points chase such as the 08' points.

cleaning up the track is a must. Get rid of derilict vehicles, parts and tires. Repave the track, re-do the walls as they look very weathered and not very nice to look at. Make the show complete by making it a nice place to be at. fans, drivers and potential sponsors would appreciate it and I know spending the money now seems a little on the down side, but think of the benefits...Barrie cleaned up their act big time and look at where they are with sponsorship and NCTS racing there. It pays to have an unforgettable facility.

First off - open line of communication between drivers and the track (this includes everyone - Staff and Owner).

I agree with the premier night for every division  make it happen

Clean up the track - it has been run like a trailer park for years.  Paint, dirt, tires and rust - clean it up.

Resurfacing of the track has to be done

Race for points - it gives all drivers something to work towards.  If we wreck a racecar on a Saturday night, and I'm not racing for points, I'm not going to put the car back together as fast.  What incentive do I have - an extra $100?  We all know we don't do this for the money!

No more slow cars starting up front in the feature - period!

Addition of the mechanical blackflag

Black Flag - if you get one in the heat, you start the next race at the back.  If you get a black flag in the feature, you start all three races at the back next time you run.

I still think its the best racetrack in southern Ontario!

If these changes can be made, I would be willing to sponsor a division

Cheers Scott

i agree with the blackflag rule scott. Send them to the back in the next race. Would be a little more of a deterent!

I do not like putting all slow cars to the back. That wouldn't be fair unless the driver was too slow. They would have to figure out what too slow would be....Everyone needs to have an opportunity to start up front to get the experience. but way off the pace....i would understand putting them at the back.

If they are not going to run for points then they should have the fastest to the front and the guy who has the best average heat races draws a number from a bin containing just as many numbers as cars for the night! That would be interesting. Throw in an extra $50 or so for the guy with the best average!

We had fun at Sunset this year. Very nice people and staff for sure. Would be great to see the track heading in a positive direction! Would hate to see the place run into the ground like some of the other speedways over the years in Ontario.
