it was really nice of deb to take money out of here own pocket to help fix the problem, it just goes to show that the staff at sunset are first class.
i'll be back for sure. Barrie, Sunset rivalry WHATEVER! Sure all tracks have glitches, drivers were cool, staff were very friendly( you gotta love Fred, nicest guy ever). i think its f...ing great that we have places to race. if we don't support our local tracks they will be gone and we all know if one shuts down the tree huggers and cityots will never let another be built. no one person is ever going to be completely happy but i'm sure these business people do care! we are all racers and need to be there for our home track and all the other tracks in ontario, or we'll all be forced to watch nascar on tsn HD, which nobody gets anyway. that would suck!!!! Going to sunset last night was not a snub to barrie, it was a chance to RACE, and what a damned great race it was!
Here Is a Thought;For Sunset'' Cut the Pay outs by half and Hire or raise the Speedway Staff Pays and Maybe get the transponders on the cars and Computers to do the line ups !!! then everyone is happy...Just a Thought... and oh yea Hire a Proper Race director!!!... ::) ::)
Just to back up newthunder42 post. We talked to the Barrie owners last night for quite awhile about the regular classes getting rained out. There was nothing they could do, the back field where the cars were to pit was a mud bowl, I know I walked in it. The water was all the way into the VIP tent behind the grandstand. The ncats haulers got stuck in the parking lot, & they couldn't get the cars off the trucks. They had to get graves towing in to get the haulers out. By the time the cars were unloaded they were 3 hours behind already. NCATS officials started pressuring them to cancel our shows & combined with the state of the pits they had no choice. Even with out the regular classes there, the NCATS could only run one practice before the race they were so behind. I know everyone thinks they don't care about us little guys but there was nothing they could do, believe me they tried, cut them some slack.
I allready have thanks RRR Crew for the Info,,I can just Imagine what the owners went through Its a Tough Gig So we will be back at BSW on Sat''lol ;D ;D ;D ;D
