I figured I better start this thread myself before all the bashing starts so here goes. First of all I witnessed the best 2 llm features I have personally seen this season tonight, my hats off to Stompin Tom for his win in the first feature and to Chris Morrow for a buetiful pass to win the second feature. After this we stould around for over a half hour waiting for the 4 cyl feature line-up to be posted, tempers now mounting. Finally their feature is in the books, on to what was arguably the best line up of thunder cars in Ontario to take the field. 3 quick cautions, a blown motor and officialy only 6 laps in the books, a storm going to blow through ,with a bunch of fast cars coming from the back , and the race is called. I SNAPPED!! Thanks to a couple of humbled Sunset employees, I was directed to a gentleman name Wes, who had the ideal task of listening to an upset me. After explaining to him how I felt, and the chance he had this evening after the slap in the face we recieved from our " Home track"( funny isn't that what nascar is promoting this season, home tracks?)at 9:08 a.m this morning when they cancelled our races, he understood our plight, not only offering to make up this show but also offering an open invatation to BSW thunder cars and choosing this night to announce effective next Saturday night it now pays $600 to win a Sunset Thunder car Feature every week. At that time he asked Rob the flagman to call a drivers meeting to make this anouncement.
My intentions were only to show Wes how I felt, but it looks like Wes understands how big Thundercar is and how big it could get, and he is ready to step up to the plate and give these drivers what they should have been getting a long time ago.
For this, as I have already expressed to my team, I am probably going to get run through the presses, but ,it's not the first time and probably won't be the last. I Know what it costs to run these cars, and if my mouth helps out some other drivers, so be it. I truly believe that the best Thunder car field will draw the best crowd, and these drivers should maybe start seeing a little more of the love from their tracks.
I wonder if barrie will match this?
