still remember that 2nd shootout weekend in cayuga, sportsman on sat. (36 cars) and NCATs (cascar at the time) on Sunday
It is strange that we agree mostly this time BAR, based on the past between us.lol My only issue really was the comment about it being the most competitive series in Canada. But we could go on forever debating the minor issues.lol I think the biggest thing that both series need to do is work together instead of against each other, cause I do remember the days when the sportsman series ran along with the CASCAR series you had the odd car from the sportsman series try and pick up a one race deal in the CASCAR series to try their hand at the "big leagues". Did it ever lead to a full time ride for that individual, I'm not really sure but it definitely gave them the experience in stepping up their program. And I'm thinking by doing that it might just have helped their sportsman team work that bit harder during sportsman races cause they saw how the "big league" teams worked which potentially led to stronger performances in the sportsman series. Personally I would just say they might be surprised what benefit each series could get if they worked together once in awhile instead of working only for themselves. Again just my opinion.
It's a good opinion in my book !!
The Cars are very similar in structure, although Nascar has stepped the up a bunch with Safety rules and a no tolerance rule in Tech.
I would bet to see at least 24 LOSC cars at Sunset for this event, and hopefully they can draw enough people to warrant a NCTS event down the road.
As far as you and I getting along...it's all good in this sand box !!
I dont mean to be a jerk.. but I have seen the OSS at both Sunset and Barrie Speedway.. and it was probably the least competitive touring series I've ever seen.. At Sunset there was only one car that would turn. The rest handled like dump trucks. And at Barrie I watched Matthews lap the field 2 or 3 times for 3 50 lap races in a row
Things may be different this year........we'll find out.
🙂
