Can anyone give me some info about this race? What class of car is this?
The old CASCAR Sportsman Series I believe.

The Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series is based on the rule book of the Cascar Super Series and Sportsman Series, although the cars are 85% Nascar Canadian Tire Series legal.
The race's are shorter..in most cases either Twin 50's or 100 lap events
It's a great series for guys that want to compete in the Nascar Series, but need time to learn the cars- setup equipment- train crews- and build inventory while racing.
As well, the LOSC Series travels only in Southern Ontario, unlike the Nascar Series which travels East to West in Canada.
The LOSC Series is by far the most affordable, most competetive, and one of the very best touring series in Canada to date, and a great learning tool for any racer that wants to better his or her's skills as a Driver at different race tracks.
Well I would say BAR is mostly right, but hey its only my opinion. All their talk about the type of cars is accurate and it is the type of series to build towards the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. It really is much more affordable considering the reduced travelling done by the teams and the cost of the vehicles and maintenance also. However in looking at last years final results is where i beg to differ it being the most competitive travelling series. In comparing the Lucas Oil Series to the NCATS there were 5 different winners in 14 races on the Lucas Oil series whereas there were 6 different winners in 13 events on the NCATS tour. I have attended both series over the past couple of years and in my opinion from a fans perspective I would say that the racing battles were stronger especially in the past 2 seasons on the NCATS tour compared to the Lucas Oil series. I say this cause to me it appears to be more action throughout the entire field of NCATS compared to the Lucas Oil series. Yes there really is some great action on the track in the Lucas Oil series just less compared to the NCATS. I personally wish they would put the 2 series together on a card like they used to with the sportsman series but not sure that will ever happen, it would really improve the fan value of an event.
DW...thanks for agreeing, and for the record I said it was ONE of the best touring series in Canada.
This series is relatively new and continues to grow, although the car count is down a bit, but again what series in Canada is growing their car counts in this economy.
I agree with you that the NCTS does put on one heck of a show, and again, it's ONE of the best touring series in Canada and it would be great if both series raced on the same card.
Time will tell if that ever happens !!
